The reason I have been so quiet is simply because I have been living in a field in a tent surrounded by the most exquisitely magical ancient English woodlands.
No electricity, no plumbing ~ seriously unplugged and deeply immersed in these magnificent trees and clear water streams.
Connecting and aligning with the elemental world.
Upon waking cold and stiff in the mornings, the warmth of the sun’s rays thaw my bones and bring light, renewal and new beginnings to each day.
I bathe my eyes and face in the little stream and fetch my hot water from the fire.
Living in sangha, living in dharma πŸ™πŸΌ
Unseen forces guide me.

I tend to listen to my body. So I started buying walnuts and eating a handful before going to bed. Really don’t know why I was doing that.
Then I checked and turns out

What does it mean to move from the inside out?
Something I have been exploring for many years and feel closer and more aligned to this way of yoga practise.
It’s not about performance, imitation or over-extension but rather a shift towards a cellular intelligence, a visceral sensation within every cell,
a dropping and softening into;
particularly in the deep,soft tissues and fluids.
With this comes a deep connection with one’s own essence.
A way of exploring somatosensory presence that is creative and connected with the flow of a larger life fore that is ever changing and moving through us.

Moisture rising, rain falling …
With a thick heavy head and blocked nose, I explore Ayurvedic ways to attend to dissolve this excess kapha which is thick and heavy and moist in nature.
My first port of call is steaming to dissolve and soften the congestion.
Next comes washing;
Warm salt water with the neti pot sniffed and poured rinsing clean and lastly oiling and lubricating my nostrils.
Instead of spending a week all bunged up, hopefully it will be cleared out with 48 hours.
Ayurveda is not complicated and can easily be integrated into our daily lives πŸŒΏβœ¨πŸ™πŸΌ

What is Ojas?

It is an energetic principle in Ayurveda which refers to our deepest inner strength, resilience, resourcefulness and immunity and a thriving of our vital forces.

β€˜The main function of Ojas is to protect against imbalance and disease. Ojas also protects the body from aging and general decay and maintains the health and stability of the seven dhatus (body tissues), three malas (channels of waste; f***s, urine and sweat), and three doshas (Vata, Pitta and Kapha).

On a more subtle level, the type of superfine Ojas, of which each individual is said to only have 8 drops residing in the heart, is said to stabilize consciousness in the physical body. It helps to keep the heart beating and maintains the span of life. Without Ojas, there is no life.’

Yoga and Ayurveda are like 2 hands of my body.
They work together, in conversation.
Traditionally both disciples come from the same source ~ the ancient Vedas.
In my practise, I draw from both ancient arts in the healing process ~ including Ayurvedic lifestyle shifts and dietary changes, Ayurvedic herbs as well as therapeutic yoga somatic practices and specific breathing techniques.
When these two disciples are interwoven together as part of the healing process, the effects are deepened and more effective.
Our physical bodies, our emotions and our mind streams are woven together.

Be extremely careful and compassionate with your body, speech and mind. A stone dropped into water will cause a ripple to move outwards in all directions, continuing on long after that stone left the hand. Likewise, a single action can cause a ripple effect within the interconnectedness of all phenomena, continuing on long after that action was carried out or forgotten.
