Hope Men and Hope Men Youth partnered with Connect Church for outreach today. It was a blessed time of joining hands and hearts - fixing up the soccer turf, face painting, pancakes, home visits, free coffee, and putting up the waterproof tarp. Great fun was had by all.

Green Ribbons for Our Children

In the shadow of the sunlit veld,
Where laughter should run wild and free,
Too many children walk through fear,
Not knowing what it means to "be".

Their backpacks heavy, not only with books,
But burdens no young heart should bear—
The echoes of a world gone cold,
Of silence met with empty stares.

A cry behind a shack at night,
A bruise explained away at school,
A playground turned to battleground,
Where pain becomes the silent rule.

Where are the hands to hold them tight?
Where are the eyes that truly see?
The hearts that rise in fierce defense,
Of every child’s right to just be?

We wear the green ribbon on our chest—
A simple thread, a solemn vow,
To stand as shields against the storm,
To say "Enough. We act. We vow."

Green, for growth they are owed.
For the peace they must know.
For the dreams they still hold,
Though the world tells them no.

This is a call to every soul:
Mothers, fathers, neighbours, friends—
Let unity become our strength,
Let care and courage never end.

No more silence. No more fear.
Let every adult rise sincere—
To build a nation brave and kind,
Where no child is left behind.
