Busy day at the clinic today. Gun shot wound (lacerations from a rubber bullet), our leg lady, injured dog and a twisted ankle. We love that we are able to assist today of all days, as the trial continues against the alleged drunk driver who took the life of the young man in whose name we operate.

Today we restarted the healing process for a chronic venous ulcer patient. We healed her wound before with love, patience and daily care before the pandemic. Today she returned to the clinic and we will start again.

This week was spring cleaning/sterilization after 2 years of being closed! Every surface was disinfected and washed. Every item in every drawer was inspected and wiped down. Expired stuff was tossed and new stock was packed and organized, ready for a total reopening ❣️ We are truly happy to be open again and the community is BUZZING with the news that they can soon have access to excellent medical assistance!

We look forward to the re-launch of the clinic in Aksel's name with new branding and a special board in honour of Aksel, which is being designed by his Mom to commemorate his life and contribution to the medical care of an entire community ❤️

Unfortunately we can't always post pictures due to privacy and the location/nature/severity of wounds - however, today was a truly busy day at the clinic!

Patient 1: 4year old with 3rd degree burns on neck, back and torso
Patient 2: 6year old with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on legs and feet
Patient 3: Adult with 2nd degree burns on back and shoulders
Patient 4: Adult with 7 boils on the nether regions
Patient 5: Adult with 2nd degree burns on both thumbs

Busy but productive!

Busy day at the clinic... Sand in the eye, cut under the foot, and a few more minor issues. Thankfully we can take care of it here and don't have to worry about standing in long queues at public facilities far away... We also took care of some animals that were hurt over the long weekend. We are so thankful to be back up and running ❣️
