Reminder: The ICGEB-SAWBP Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme, in partnership with the NRF and the Department of Science, Technology and Innovation, is inviting applications from South African women in Biotechnology or a related discipline.

The SAWBP programme promotes the interaction and mobility of South African women Biotechnology researchers and the ICGEB community, including mobility support to visit other ICGEB Components in Trieste, Italy and New Delhi, India.

Proposed research projects must be innovative and fall within one of the ICGEB Cape Town Component macro areas of research, namely: Infectious Diseases, Non-Communicable Diseases, Bioinformatics, Plant Systems Biology, Biopesticides and Virology.

Dr Rumbidzai Changwa, ICGEB SAWBP Research Fellow in our Group, is participating in the ongoing Nature-based Microbial Solutions for Sustainable Agricultural Productivity in sub-Saharan Africa (B-INOC Africa) workshop, taking place in Nairobi, Kenya, from 23โ€“27 February 2026.

During the workshop, she delivered a presentation on scaling up biopesticide-based residue mitigation strategies across the region.
