I damaged my skin trying to “fix” it… and I see this mistake ALL the time.

When I was younger, I was convinced the answer to my breakouts was simple… exfoliate more.

And more.

And then some more.

I got to a point where I was exfoliating daily — and not with something gentle either. I’m talking about that old-school apricot scrub in the big orange tub… you know exactly the one.

At the time, it felt like I was doing something… like I was scrubbing the breakouts away.

But what I didn’t realise was that in my desperation, I was actually damaging my skin barrier.

And that’s where the real problem started…

More breakouts.
More scrubbing.
More sensitivity.

A full-on vicious cycle.

And now? I have the scars to remind me.

So yes — exfoliation is important… but only when it’s done correctly.

✨ Think gentle, enzymatic exfoliation instead of harsh, grainy scrubs
✨ Be very cautious of anything that promises “at-home microdermabrasion”
✨ And remember… that temporary smooth feeling is NOT worth long-term damage

Your skin barrier will always tell the real story.

Be gentle.
Know your ingredients.
Protect your skin barrier like your results depend on it… because they do.

If you’re not sure if you’re getting it right, book your complimentary skin consultation and let’s take a proper look at your routine 🤍

There’s something almost addictive about that moment after a shower… ✨

That fresh, clean feeling. Your mind a little quieter. Your body finally exhaling.

And then… skincare.

I don’t know about you, but no matter how exhausted I am, I will always do it.
It’s my reset button.
Whether I’m getting ready to face the day… or winding down for the night.

It’s such a small ritual, but it shifts everything. 🤍

Tell me — what’s your go-to self-care ritual? 👇

Has the world gone plastic? 🤔

A friend and I were sitting having a coffee, soaking up the last bit of warmer weather, when a group of women around our age walked past in their activewear. I looked up from my cup and all I could see were emotionless faces, extra-long lashes… and my very vocal friend leaned over and said “when was the last time you saw someone without b*t*x and fillers?”

And honestly? It started a whole conversation. 💬

I get asked a lot lately if I’ve had b*t*x. And look — no judgement here, do what makes you feel good. But I still believe in REAL skincare. Skincare that’s specially formulated to support your skin and help you age gracefully, on your own terms.

Here’s what most people don’t realise though — injectables and skincare are not an either/or situation. The problem is when people replace skincare with injectables altogether. They’re meant to work together. One without the other is only doing half the job.

Just my opinion — not medical advice, not pointed at anyone. Simply a conversation worth having. ☕

If you’re unsure what skincare is right for YOUR journey, send me a WhatsApp — I’d love to help. 🙌

My inbox after my previous post told me everything — my cracked heels are NOT alone.

Honestly, knowing I am not the only one battling this made me feel so much better. So let’s fix it together — properly this time.

Here’s the thing though. I can give you the best routine in the world, but if consistency isn’t your thing… well… 🤦‍♀️ honestly that is actually my problem.

Here’s what you’re looking for on that label:
➡️ Urea (ideally 20–40% although this could be a hard find) — it is doing the heavy lifting. It pulls moisture INTO the skin AND breaks down that thick, hardened skin at the same time. A humectant AND a keratolytic in one. Nothing touches cracked heels faster.
➡️Lactic Acid — your second non-negotiable. It gently exfoliates the dead skin layer and helps restore your acid mantle. Don’t sleep on this one.

Here is that routine that will actually change things for your heels:
1️⃣ Soak feet in warm water for 10 minutes — then foot file on WET skin, not dry. Controlled removal, not trauma.
2️⃣ Pat dry and apply your urea cream while skin is still slightly damp.
3️⃣ Cotton socks on. Leave overnight. This is the step most people skip — don’t be most people.
4️⃣ Repeat consistently for 2 weeks. That’s where the magic actually happens.

And please, put down the pretty “cracked heel” balm if it’s mostly petrolatum with no actives. It’s sealing dryness in, not fixing anything. Fragrance high on the list? Also a no. Alcohol high on the list? Walk away.
Actives do the work. Marketing does not. 🙌🏼

Drop a 🙋🏼‍♀️ below if you’re trying this — and come back and tell me when you see the difference. I want to hear about it!

“She looked me dead in the eye and said — this is what they told me, and this is what I’m going to keep telling people.” 🤦‍♀️

And there it was. The moment that reminded me exactly why skin knowledge matters more than ever.

There I was, standing in the skincare aisle — not the foot section, because honestly, I’ve tried everything there to try and fix my cracked heels — looking for specific ingredients I knew would solve my problem. Next thing, a sales lady appears, full of confidence and zero ingredient knowledge.

Now her attitude wasn’t the issue. The issue? She was one conversation away from sending someone home with a completely damaged skin barrier — and she didn’t even know it.

I see this more and more in skin and body aisles. Training that stops at the product name and the sales pitch. No ingredients. No skin science. No real understanding of what they’re actually putting in someone’s hands.

A couple of years ago? I would’ve been that client. I would’ve walked away, followed the advice, and continued wrecking my skin without even knowing it.

When the sale becomes more important than the skin — we have a problem.

So if you ever find yourself standing in a skincare aisle, overwhelmed and unsure — send me a WhatsApp. I will help you figure it out. 🫶🏼

Yesterday, for the first time in a very long time, I wore makeup.

Not my usual “I tried” combo of BB cream and eyeliner… I’m talking full glam — foundation, bronzer, the whole thing.

And it got me thinking…

Why do so many women wear makeup every single day?

Is it because it makes you feel more “put together”… like your outfit isn’t complete without it?
Or has it just become such a habit that you go on autopilot every morning?

Or… are you quietly trying to hide the things you don’t love about our skin?

No judgment. Just curiosity.

Tell me honestly — why do you wear makeup?

Someone burst my bubble about all the things I thought I knew about hair… 😅💭

Lately, I’ve realised that so many of us are struggling with hair loss — whether it’s hormonal, stress-related, or just life doing its thing… it’s definitely a thing right now.

And I really thought I had myself covered:
Good shampoo & conditioner ✔️
Air drying ✔️
Washing less ✔️
The “Less is more” approach ✔️

But here’s what I’ve learnt…

✨ Washing your hair more regularly (even daily) can actually be better — it helps break down buildup on your scalp that can contribute to hair fall.

✨ And making sure your scalp is properly dry afterwards is just as important — leaving it damp for long periods isn’t ideal if you want to maintain healthy hair.

✨ A weekly treatment is still a must — but choosing the right one for your hair is key (your hairdresser will know best 😉).

Side note: This was advice from a dermatologist (heard second hand), but honestly… it makes a lot of sense to me.

I guess the biggest takeaway?

Maybe it’s not just about taking care of our hair anymore…
Maybe it’s about taking better care of our scalp 🤍

If you’ve been struggling with hair loss or shedding, you’re definitely not alone. I would like to hear your thoughts or tips!

Ever feel like a new shampoo can completely change your identity? 😅

I’ve realised I’m way more sensitive to smell than I’d like to admit… because every time I try something new, I spend WEEKS wondering who I am and why I smell like a completely different person.

So here’s your reminder: just because something is new, doesn’t mean it’s better for you.

When it comes to my skincare, I’m not experimenting. I stick to what works.
And for me? Environ is that “no fuss, no overpowering scent, just results” kind of skincare.

Consistency is better than trends. Always.

If your skin is happy, glowing, and healthy… why change it? 🤍

✨ Tell me — are you loyal to your products or do you love trying new things?

Life has been a little… chaotic lately 😅
And if you’re anything like me, it probably feels like life is moving faster than your brain can keep up.

But in between the madness, I’ve found a few things that have actually helped me stay functional (and sane):

✨ Environ Colostrum Capsules
A non-negotiable in our home. The moment I feel that “uh-oh” scratchy throat or just off, I increase my dose—and honestly, it helps my body bounce back so much quicker.

❄️ My portable aircon
Do I still miss my old setup at Old Stellenbosch Road? Every. Single. Day.
But this little machine? It has saved me more than once during these hot treatment days 🙌

🚗 Reverse parking camera
Let’s just say… this was a very necessary upgrade 😂
New space = new parking challenges, and this has been a total game changer.

💙 Environ Sérience Night Serum
Okay THIS… deserves its own moment.
I’ll be honest—I didn’t recommend it enough before. Not because it doesn’t work, but because I didn’t fully appreciate just how much stress shows up in the skin.

The past few weeks? Stress levels = high.
But my skin? Calm, smooth, glowing.

And the only thing I changed? Adding this blue magic into my night routine. Nothing else.

If your skin has been reacting to stress, this is your sign.

📩 I’ll be sharing more about this serum soon via email—
If you’re not on my list yet, DM me “SERIENCE” and I’ll add you 💌
