Everyone has a natural internal rhythm, or chronotype, which dictates our best sleeping and waking hours! Are you:

The Lark 🌅: You're a happy early riser, most productive before noon.
The Owl 🦉: You thrive late at night and struggle to wake up before sunrise.
The Hummingbird 🕊️: You're happily balanced somewhere in the middle.

Are you part of the "I'll sleep when I'm dead" club? Let's talk facts! 💡

❌ MYTH: "I can train myself to thrive on 5 hours of sleep."

✅ FACT: The average adult needs 7–9 hours for optimal cognitive function. Consistently sacrificing sleep doesn't make you productive; it impairs decision-making, leads to 'micro-sleeps,' and significantly increases long-term health risks. You can't cheat your biology.

Prioritising your 7–9 hours is the ultimate power move for performance and health.
Stop sacrificing sleep. Get the facts and prioritize your 7–9 hours. Have your GP complete a referral form on www.sleepdisorders.co.za

Are you attributing your year-end fatigue to SAD? It could be something else. ⚠️

Symptoms like persistent low energy and hypersomnia (sleeping too much) are shared by SAD, Insomnia, and Sleep Apnea. Relying solely on light therapy means you risk leaving a serious structural issue, like sleep apnea, untreated.

Don't gamble with your health! Your best step is always to speak to your GP to rule out underlying physiological causes first.

Don't self-diagnose your fatigue. Get to the scientific root cause. Have your GP complete a referral form on our website www.sleepdisorders.co.za

Are you struggling to stay awake during the day, no matter how much you sleep? 😴

Our new research spotlight is on the Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MSLT). This crucial diagnostic tool measures objective daytime sleepiness by tracking how quickly you fall asleep when given the chance. It is vital for specialists to accurately confirm conditions like Narcolepsy.

We believe in getting to the scientific root of your problem so we can provide a targeted solution. You don't have to live with persistent daytime fatigue.
If excessive daytime sleepiness is disrupting your life, let's fix it. Book your consultation at www.sleepdisorders.co.za.

We all dream of that long holiday lie-in, but let's talk facts! 😴

❌ MYTH: "Two weeks of sleeping in will fix my chronic sleep issues in 2026."
✅ FACT: While a break is wonderful, temporary rest won't correct physiological conditions like Sleep Apnea or Restless Legs Syndrome. Chronic issues require professional diagnosis and a targeted treatment plan—not just a longer snooze button.

If you’re starting the new year with the same persistent problems, it’s time for a sustainable change.

Resolve to fix your chronic sleep issues in 2026. Book your assessment now at www.sleepdisorders.co.za
