Recently had the privilege of providing staff training at Cape Town Montessori School on speech and language milestones, as well as areas to look out for in the classroom.

The training was presented by Liné Kruger, a Speech-Language and Hearing Therapist from the Cape Town Therapy Hub, who also provides speech therapy sessions at the school.

What truly stood out was the incredible CTMS staff team. Their enthusiasm, warmth, and genuine commitment to their learners made the session highly engaging and very meaningful. They contributed thoughtful questions, shared valuable classroom insights, and demonstrated a strong desire to better understand how communication development impacts learning, behaviour, and classroom participation.

We explored typical speech and language milestones and discussed areas to look out for that may indicate when a learner could benefit from further assessment or support. It was inspiring to see how readily the team connected the content to real classroom situations and how invested they are in early identification and meaningful support for their learners.

CTMS is clearly home to a dedicated, reflective, and proactive group of educators. Thank you for the warm welcome and for the important work you do every day 🌿
