Our patient presented with a fractured central incisor and a very large diastema (separation/ gap between 2 teeth) between tooth numbers 11 and 21.
Dr Mohammed built her tooth up using composite filling material and narrowed the diastema slightly (not completely).

The diastema wasn't closed completely to ensure healthy gingiva (gum tissue). Dr D Mohammed encourages good oral hygiene practices in this area and the rest of the mouth.

Fluoride and it's benefits.
Fluoride that is consumed from from either foods, beverages or dietary supplements, is known as systemic fluoride.
Fluoridated toothpaste and other fluoride dental products, including the fluoride applied at your biannual dental visit, is known as topical fluoride.

This helps strengthens tooth enamel (the hard surface of the tooth) and helps prevent tooth decay along with good oral hygiene.
Fluoride helps rebuild (remineralise) weakened tooth enamel and may assist in reversing early signs of tooth decay.

A Zirconia crown was constructed by .dental and placed by Dr Mohammed to replace the patients' previously fractured crown.
Crowns are a type of restoration that provides better aesthetics and durability than composite restorations (fillings).

The patients' full treatment plan was not completed yet.
However she was happy and satisfied with the function and aesthetics of her new crown! 👑

Gingivitis is gum disease that can progress to periodontitis which is disease of the bone and surrounding tissues of the teeth and gums.

The most common cause of gingivitis is poor oral hygiene that encourages plaque to form on teeth, causing inflammation of the surrounding gum tissues.

If left untreated your gums will pull away from your teeth and form spaces called pockets. Plaque forms in these pockets and develops into calculus or tartar that cannot be removed with regular brushing.
Progression of this disease may lead to bone and tooth loss.

If gum disease is treated early and regularly further damage to bone and teeth could be avoided.
If the pockets between your gums and teeth are too deep, scaling and root planing may be needed.
