Dr D Krick - Gynaecologist & Obstetrician

Excelling in her training and with extensive experience in the government sector, Dr D Krick entered private practice in 2017. She offers her patients a fresh, easy-to-approach manner whilst being up to date with the latest evidence-based medicine. She is passionate about empowering women of all ages to play an active role in their gynaecological health and mothers-to-be to have a healthy, happy pregnancy and positive birthing experience.

Dr D Krick is highly qualified to take care of low and high-risk pregnancies, having been awarded Master Trainer status for ESMOE (Obstetric Emergencies) courses. She strives to honour patients’ birth preferences, especially normal deliveries, whilst always ensuring the safety of both mom and baby.

Dr D Krick was born in Germany, is fluent in German, English and Afrikaans and obtained her medical qualifications at some of the finest South African universities.

Dr D Krick's qualifications equip her to offer you the best possible care:

A Medical Degree from Wits University

Specialist training in Obs and Gynae at the University of Cape Town graduating with a Master of Medicine as well as a Fellowship of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of South Africa in 2013.

Awards for surgical skills, as well as “the Golden Speculum” Award for the best research dissertation in 2011.

Master Trainer status for Obstetric Emergency Care (ESMOE)

Following her passion for minimally invasive surgery, she became one of the first gynaecologists in Cape Town to obtain Level 2 (advanced) certification by the European Academy of Gynaecologic Surgery (Dr D Krick is actively involved in training and examining young doctors wishing to gain this valuable qualification too).

Alongside the above, Dr D Krick spent 4 years working as a specialist in Western Cape government hospitals serving the community and being actively involved in training junior doctors, student doctors and nursing staff. She served as head of Obs & Gynae for 2 years in one of Cape Town’s well-known district hospitals before venturing into private practice.
