Why is strength training such a buzz word especially in our menopausal years?

Why do muscles matter?

We will spend an evening explaining the role of muscles and how they assist in glucose control and insulin sensitivity.
We will also explore types of exercises and which are best for:

* bone health
* fat loss
* cardiac health
* hot flushes

This interactive evening will answer many of your questions with the aim to inspire you to train more goal oriented.

At The Balance Group we believe in individualised medicine and training. Our unique bodies require different emphasis’ and we want to help figure that out.

Come spend an evening with us exploring this topic, regardless what age you are. The younger you start the better your body is prepared for the later years.

We are excited to announce the arrival of our newest team member starting on the 24th of March

Sarah Adendorff is a Senior Physiotherapist, graduating with a degree in Physiotherapy from the University of Pretoria in 2019.

Prior to that she worked as a Pilates instructor since 2015, with a special interest in pregnancy, athletes and dancers.

Through this experience she developed her clinical interest in neuromusculoskeletal rehab and she remains fascinated by the brain's involvement in movement and pain.

Her interest in treating the whole body and not just the injury brought her to us and we believe she is an excellent addition to our physiotherapy team.

Many of our female clients go through various symptoms related to our hormonal fluctuations without necessarily being aware that this is the cause.

Come join us for an evening discussion with Toni-Lynne Monger on how to best approach peri-menopause and post-menopause. Let’s look deeper into how exercise can help and why it helps.

As women we are blessed with big changes that occur in our bodies through puberty, pregnancy, post partum, peri-menopause and post menopause.

In each stage our bodies are a slightly more susceptible to certain injuries. We’d like to have a chat about what happens in menopause and why and what we can do about it in a “balanced” kind of way.
Due to limited places please rsvp through our website.

The new year is starting with many exciting changes for us. 2023 had us say goodbye both to Craig and Will .lindeque, both amazing practitioners who had been with us since day one.

Change is good, it keeps us on our toes and we embrace it.

We will start offering yoga again on the 22nd of January with 3 experienced yoga teachers, all of them studio owners and so knowledgeable.
Sharline’s , Suzanne and Elsa have joined us, each adding their unique style to our offering. They will be available both for private sessions and studio classes.
Come and check out there classes. More information is to be found on our website.

Our second evening inviting our colleagues (physios, bios and podiatrists) to our premises to listen to the fantastic doctors of the Cape Town Sports and Orthopaedic Clinic. Doctors Thane Munting, Michael Bartman, Michael Held and Fred Louw spoke about hip, knee and ankle surgeries. First of all, thank you to these 4 gentlemen- they are great at presenting and always interesting to listen to. And secondly, it was great to see our colleagues at our premises, all 50 of them. Hopefully we can develop this into a regular get together.
