The evidence is in.

Vegetable oil, soybean oil, canola oil, safflower oil, and corn oil are all processed foods. They slow your cellular metabolism and accumulate in your brain and white fat cells.

Butter, on the other hand, improves your metabolism and gives you healthy cell structures. Your hormones are made out of cholesterol, and even the American Heart Association now says that cholesterol in food is a “nutrient of non-concern.”

There are lots of things pushing our health in the wrong direction. The biggest thing you could do right now to set things right is to stop eating fried stuff at restaurants and stop eating commercial salad dressing. Those are the two biggest sources of junk oil in your life. 🙏

Are you biohacking today?👇🏼

1. Donate blood: If you’re a man, do this at least once a year. If you’re a woman, you can wait until after menopause. This clears all sorts of toxins from your blood, and it actually makes you live longer. It also gets rid of extra iron. 💉

2. Practice intermittent fasting: It’s not that hard. Go to fastwithdave.com and I'll teach you how to do it at no cost. I just want you to learn how to not be hungry when you skip breakfast. 🍽

3. Walk for 20 mins a day: Bonus points – go for a walk after a meal to keep your insulin levels down, which has all kinds of good benefits for you. 🚶‍♀️

4. Lift twice a week: Lift heavy stuff or do push ups and pull ups at least twice a week for just a few minutes. This gives you a big return for a small amount of effort. 🏋️

5. Tape your mouth when you sleep: For the past four years, I have taped my mouth every night. This helps you wake up with more oxygen in your brain (and less morning breath). It totally works. Even my kids do it. 😴

6. Go outside: Every morning, go outside. Take off your sunglasses, take out your contacts, and get some actual light from the environment around you for 20 minutes. You’ll sleep better all night long. ☀️

It doesn't cost you anything to do these things, but they will transform you. This is distilled biohacking wisdom. Yeah, there are supplements, lasers, electrical stuff, magnets, and stem cells...but you don't have to do all that to get big results. 🤷‍♂️

Olive oil is one of my favorite fats for many reasons.

We’ve seen it’s a staple in Blue Zones and the well-researched Mediterranean diet, and this new study backs up its powerful impacts on healthspan and lifespan. It looked at more than 90,000 people over the course of 28 years and found that those who consumed the most olive oil (greater than a half tablespoon a day) had significantly lower risks for death from cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative diseases, respiratory diseases, and cancer.

It’s also interesting to note they found replacing butter, margarine, and dairy fat with the same amount of olive resulted in an 8-34% reduction in total and cause-specific mortality.
