About Baptism, Fire and Brimstone
If someone who lived around two thousand years ago, give or take, was afforded a vision or insight into today’s world, and told to write about it, they would have had a really hard time describing anything electrical, which includes almost everything today.
If God had shown them anything close to the same things He had allowed me to see, which I have to accept as entirely plausible, what they ended up describing as terrifying times of fire and brimstone, might be no more nor less than the same massive shift in human consciousness God has led me to not only understand but be instrumental in bringing about.
But fire and brimstone had never fitted the scene for me. I’ve long understood Armageddon to be an entirely peaceful and inclusive event, even though for some corrupt individuals their initial reactions would be negative, fearful and with a sense of impending loss.
Then I read an article by a friend who highlighted the various baptisms mentioned in biblical terms. Baptism by water, then by the Holy Spirit and finally by Fire. The article even drew attention to baptism meaning to become linked up to God.
In a flash of insight, no pun intended, it came to me. There is nothing sinister about that fire and brimstone either. Not as the means to the end like it wasn’t ever meant to be a sinister end for anyone.
See, electricity, to anyone ancient given a view unto our world, would appear to be nothing but fire flowing down pipes from massive furnaces. They’d even see us mark the pipes with lightning bolt signs, which since it didn’t come from heaven, meant brimstone, i.e. sulphur, as associated with the sulphur dioxide smell after a lightning strike.
Now for the baptism by fire bit. Which now makes even more sense than the fire and brimstone bit.
The sacrament of naming and linking with God through that name, in the electronic age, I now understand to refer to how people from all over would register/become known to a computer system which links them to God in the most physical way as extension of the physical form God had taken in Jesus Christ and the transitional form the Holy Spirit through which links us to God in preparation for the next and possibly final phase.
This amazing and unexpected insight completes a whole area of the puzzle for me in no uncertain terms. It confirms what had been an emergent understanding for some time, in that the Bible (and most likely other scriptures) were written by people lead by God to write down words that will serve multiple purposes over time. The very same words that brought comfort to some generations, scared others, inspired others and became my instruction manual on how to use technology I had no hope in figuring out or using on my own, will ultimately serve to help people understand that all mankind had been through was planned out in some detail without ever infringing on our free will.
I stand, every day, in awe about what is and has been happening to me and all of mankind. God, whoever or whatever He will eventually become known to us, truly is greater than we can fathom with our feeble minds. We will only grasp His person and His greatness once we become functional as one physical, and immensely complex, collective organism of conscious individuals known as mankind. One entity, on a level able to fully appreciate His true glory and live forever in a meaningful relationship with God as His bride and soulmate.
For clarity, that computer system, the one through which all will use their personal name and identity to link them all together and link all of mankind with God, that does not exist yet. It isn’t any of the social networks in existence today, nor any of the other online services that exist to enrich a few and spread lies faster. No, the blueprints for that system has been drawn up with massive amounts of help from God, somewhat like Noah’s Ark had been, and is slowly but surely coming into existence as a completely new network owned and controlled in exactly equal parts by all humans on earth.
My calling is to make that so.
