Mechanism of action
Shockwave is an acoustic wave which carries high energy to painful spots and myofascial tissues with subacute, acute and chronic conditions. The energy promotes regeneration and reparative processes of the bones, tendons and other soft tissues.
Shockwaves are characterised by a jump change in pressure, high amplitude and non-periodicity.
The kinetic energy of the projectile, created by compressed air, is transferred to the transmitter at the end of the applicator and further into the tissue.
Shockwave Therapy can provide relief and advanced recovery in situations where the healing process has stalled or failed to respond to standard therapeutic intervention.
Anyone who has suffered an injury knows that chronic pain can affect the quality of life, performance at work, enjoyment of regular exercise and ability to take part in sports. Shockwave can provide relief and healing even in chronic cases where the body has previously demonstrated an unwillingness or inability to do so by itself.
The use of Shockwave Therapy has been found to safely and successfully treat a range of musculoskeletal conditions, supported by a wealth of clinical experience and scientific evidence.
