For Ludick, the warm welcome into the estate made all the difference: ‘I never imagined retirement could be like this. It wasn’t the hard transition I imagined, as the community was so welcoming.’

Pieter and Rita’s love story began as students at UCT — and today, it continues into retirement at Oasis Life Clara Anna Fontein. After decades in their Welgedacht family home, they made the move not just for security, but for company among like-minded peers.

Meet Melanie & Fendi at Oasis Life Burgundy Estate 🌿
“Only you know when the time is right,” says Melanie Friedman. After 30 years at Dolphin Beach, she knew it was time to make a change. COVID-19 reminded Melanie of the importance of community and support — and when her cousin brought her to see the Oasis Life Burgundy Estate showhouse, she fell in love instantly.
Today, she and her beloved pup Fendi are at home here. Melanie has taken up gardening, joined the Canasta group (now 50 members strong!), and even bowls regularly at the estate's bowling green — inspired by her late dad, a champion bowls player.
