Did you know that World Bipolar Day is celebrated on Vincent van Gogh’s birthday?

Van Gogh’s life and art have helped people better understand the intense emotional experiences that many individuals with bipolar disorder face. His letters and personal history suggest he experienced powerful shifts between periods of intense creativity and deep sadness.

Today, we know that bipolar disorder is a treatable mental health condition. With the right diagnosis, support, and treatment, people can live stable, meaningful, and fulfilling lives.

World Bipolar Day is an opportunity to:
• Increase understanding of bipolar disorder
• Reduce stigma around mental health conditions
• Encourage people to seek help when they need it
