Safe-Med

Safe-Med Safe-Med is a Cape Town based company specialising in Medical Emergency and First Aid training. The official launch was on 13th April 2015.

Safe-Med is accredited with the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa and the American Heart Association to provide CPR and First Aid Training in accordance with international standards of resuscitation. This training aids to reduce the extent of injury or save the life of a person in crisis. In order for course participants to understand both the theoretical component and practical skills of First Aid and CPR, Safe-Med provides the perfect balance between offering informative sessions and practical applications of the theory, including ‘hands-on’ training on manikins. This not only ensures that course participants will be able to perform efficiently and effectively in a crisis requiring immediate medical intervention, but also be able to retain long term memory of life saving skills. Despite the serious nature of the content, the courses are enjoyable and interactive, guaranteeing that participants leave feeling far more capable about what to do in the case of a medical or trauma emergency. Safe-Med have become providers of ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) in partnership with Dr. Matley and Partners. The enhanced recovery program is about improving patient outcomes after surgery. The program focuses on making sure that patients are active participants in their own recovery process. It also aims to ensure that patients receive evidence based care that has been validated in ERAS centres of excellence worldwide. We have joined a community of more than 40 international ERAS societies. A first for the African continent!!
