When was the last time you had one of these?👩🏽⚕️ I recently sustained an open wound, and because I suspected I got my last vaccine almost 10 years ago, I decided to rather get one again. So when should we get a Tetanus vaccine? Every time you sustain an open wound of any kind, your health care provider should prescribe one for you. If you had a vaccine in the past 5-10 years, you might not have to get it. Even if the wound is clean, and does not require stitches, you should still get the vaccine. Possible side effects include flu like symptoms as well as localized swelling. Allergic reactions are rare, but do happen. Should you break out in hives and feel swelling in your throat, go to your nearest Emergency Centre. It is advisable that adults get a Tetanus vaccine booster every 10 years, regardless of whether you sustained any open wounds during that time period. Share in the comments your experiences with this vaccine! Let’s engage!👩🏽⚕️💉
