We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Jannie Mouton to our team at Dr. Theresa Jordaan’s General Practice in Somerset West!
Available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, Dr. Mouton brings his wealth of knowledge, gentle spirit, and signature sense of humour to our practice, and we couldn’t be more pleased.
A dedicated people person, Dr. Mouton is known not only for his clinical skill but also for his kindness, warmth, and ability to connect. Patients and colleagues alike appreciate his thoughtful listening, his sharp wit, and the calm reassurance he brings to every encounter.
He graduated from the University of the Free State in 1992, having first completed a B.Med.Sc. Honours degree in Physiology.
Over the next three decades, he built a remarkable career spanning private practice in North-West and Mpumalanga, locum work in Ireland, and nearly two decades in public healthcare in the Western Cape. He played key roles in clinical management, particularly in HIV and TB program coordination for the Department of Health and Wellness, contributing to meaningful change at a systemic level.
He holds a Diploma in Occupational Health (University of the Free State), a Diploma in HIV Management (College of Medicine, Cape Town), and most recently, a master’s degree in Health Professions Education from Stellenbosch University, testament to his lifelong dedication to learning and evolving within healthcare.
His experience includes district hospital procedures, anaesthetics, and the treatment of HIV, TB, and mental health conditions. He has a special interest in holistic medicine and a natural affinity for elderly care, always approaching patients with empathy and respect.
Outside of work, Dr. Mouton is a proud father of three and grandfather to two energetic boys. He’s happiest outdoors, walking, swimming, or playing tennis, with a light-hearted smile never far from reach.
Please join us in greeting and congratulating Dr. Mouton on this exciting new chapter. We’re deeply fortunate to have him, and we look forward to the impact his care will continue to make in our community.
