Dr Katrien Dehaeck

She is the only doctor in South Africa to offer a revolutionary stem-cell procedure to effectively treat Lichen Sclerosus. Dr Katrien Dehaeck is a leading gynaecologist specialising in Vulvo-vaginal diseases and has been in private practise at Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Pinelands, Cape Town for 25 years, where she specialises in Gynaecology, Gynae Oncology, Vulvo-vaginal disease and Paediatric Gynaecology. She is also one of a handful of doctors internationally to offer a revolutionary stem-cell procedure to effectively treat Lichen Sclerosus. She sees a wide spectrum of patients ranging from children to senior citizens to treat Vulvo-vaginal problems and disease. De Dehaeck also founded the Vulvo-vaginal Clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town in 1998. Dr Dehaeck consults part-time to the Gynae Oncology unit and Vulval and Colposcopy clinic at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town; she is a part-time consultant to the Paediatric Gynaecology clinic at the Red Cross Children’s Hospital; and she is a Senior Consultant and Lecturer for under- and post-graduate medical students. She is a member of the South African Society of Gynae and Obstetrics (SASOG); the South African Society of Gynae Oncology (SASGO); the South African Medical and Dental Council (SAMDC); and the International Gynae Cancer Society (IGCS). She was also a long-standing member of the International Society for the Study of Vulvo-vaginal Disease (ISSVD).
