As a therapist, I call these "clear social cues."

If she’s balancing a toddler on her hip, she’s not looking for a "hey beautiful". She’s looking for her sanity and possibly, a wet wipe.

There is a fine line between a "meet-cute" and a "please-leave-me-alone".

Think of this as your friendly PSA.

Because the guys who get it, GET IT and for everyone else....well...you live and learn! Timing is everything 🫡

You might think you are a stand up hoot, but does your partner agree? A compatibility with humour is one of the many overlooked relationship dynamics we see as therapists.

It's also one of the characteristics we have as humans that very rarely changes.

So best be sure you are laughing too, because nurturing a healthy relationship is complicated. But that doesn't mean we don’t try, it just means we need to consider that when humans get together, we need to account for everything which makes us who we are.

Also, if someone is making you the butt of their joke then that is NOT okay. Your therapist is not laughing.

I'm all for sharing feelings, but what I think needs to emphasised is that unless we have a signed contract in place, I am not your therapist.

This enthusiastic voicenote was much longer. As in, MUCH longer. I just didn't have enough Vyvanse to record myself without crying from sheer boredom. The upset came from me sharing a reel about doing community driven collabs 🫠

We have a saying as therapists for the general public which is: We are human beings first before anything else.

There are few more enthusiastic voicenotes hanging around in my DM's and I have to say that the manosphere is an angry place.

Hopefully my content comes out from the pit of hell, eventually.

In the meantime, I do just want to say that yes, the last I checked, my name is Kim.

Listen, I hear the criticisms, but I'm going to stand by my girl

The confessions on this therapy couch are next level and if someone just let Karen know who Usher is, then we wouldn't be here.

I have to say - I am all for this concept. The show is binge worthy!

I would however like to have someone from confirm with me if these therapy room confessions are scripted because my girl Karen endured A LOT.

Sometimes the best way to cheer yourself up is to lean into the beauty around you. 🌸

I had "one of those days", so I headed to in Constantia. One of my go to places to find grounding in nature.

Coming here and supporting this business feels like a warm hug.

Run by the incredible Japhta brothers (carrying on their father Moses’ legacy!), this farm has been a local staple for five generations.

There’s something so special about supporting a family business with such a deep history. Between the smiles, the singing, and the fresh blooms, I can't help but leave with a lighter heart 💛

Everything okay at home?

Just checking.

Oh boy.......🫠

The forest people of California don't want me to make you content.

And when you have ADHD and finally have a moment of being able to naturally hyper focus, this type of thing can feel VERY personal.

But it’s okay. Sometimes things don't go to plan. And that's okay.

So we will find the lessons in everything in 2026.

For our sanity 🌿

POV: You’re an off duty therapist, but the group chat forgot 🫠

(Thankfully I don't have friends like this IRL. They know the communication codes to use 😊)

I didn’t lose the work when I closed my office.
Grateful for the people who trusted me with their stories,
and for the courage it took to choose a different way forward.
Still doing the work.
Just doing it more honestly now. 🤍

People are going to do whatever they want to do. Even if you don't agree with it.

Learning to reconcile with this life truth can probably set you free from a lot of sleepless nights.

You have one life. Invite some emotional freedom into it.

I guess getting into trouble for being too talkative eventually paid off because now I talk ALL DAY. And I get paid to do it, in a job I love🫶🏽

Take up your space, darling.
