aka my A race of the year and my unofficial birthday party, it’s less than 6 weeks away! 🤩

And I’m finally starting to feel good. It’s been a while since I’ve felt as strong as I currently do with running. I got ill last year after DC and have struggled to run comfortably since. Regardless of how I’ve felt, I’ve just put my head down and done my best to trust my coach program, he knows how important this race is to me.

My hope is to run my first sub 4 marathon 🙌 which seemed a little far fetched when I first asked him but I ran a 33min marathon PB at Peninsula and a half marathon PB at Two Oceans, so here’s to dreaming, to hard work, to showing up even when I didn’t feel like it…

Less than 6 weeks to go, it’s crunch time. As it gets colder, I’m upping my immune boosters and dialling down on my nutrition!

For those looking for info re the drunk driver and Idries Sheriff court case, I’ve received the below from his sister, “As many of you know, on 16 December 2025, Idries Sheriff tragically lost his life after being struck by a driver who was allegedly under the influence and driving on the wrong side of the road.

A court date was set for 22 April 2026. However, the case has not yet been set down for trial. It is expected that the matter will be postponed on this date to allow for outstanding administrative processes and reports to be finalised and properly filed.

The case remains in its early stages, and as with many legal matters, the process can take time while investigations are concluded and all parties prepare accordingly.

We kindly ask for your continued patience, support, and respect for the legal process during this time. Your support means so much to our family, especially Idries’ parents, wife and little boy.”

I’m truly tired of posting these, but I woke up with a really distressing message from a follower asking for help! It’s a sad and unjust story, so brace yourself.

We’ve all seen those kids from cycling in the .property kit around the peninsula on their hand me down bikes, using discipline and dedication for a better future.

A truly sad day when some dude in a white VW Citi Golf with a registration plate CAA391082 chose violence, knocking the kids over and threatening them, before reversing over one of the promising kids bikes.

Being young and not knowing any better one of the kids picked up a rock and threw it at the car. The driver laid charges of malicious damage to property with who refuse to place charges from the kids - my personal opinion, the true victims.

They are going to go back on Monday and are desperately asking their community for help! Tbh this makes me feel so helpless, as all I can do is try share and ask you to step up and help if you can. Can contact me for appropriate contact details.

Following up on my post from yesterday re the issue with the two men running under womens bibs and placing in the top 10 women I thought I’d write a post to help us all have a better understanding as to why this is not allowed - to run under another athletes bib/race entry.

Here’s what I found:

1. The most important, athlete safety and medical information - our bibs are linked to our medical info and emergency contacts, if something goes wrong emergency responders access incorrect medical details for life threading situations - say someone ran under my bib and something happened, emergency responders would administer insulin meant for a T1 diabetic (potentially lethal for non diabetics) and as I am a recovered he**in addict I have a note to not give me opiates/pain medication.

2. Insurance and liability protection - most events provide participant insurance based on registered athletes, which if you’re running under another athletes bib, may become invalid and the organisers are not legally liable for incidents involving unregistered athletes.

3. The integrity of official race results and fair competition. Swapping a bib directly affects race results, rankings, age category prizes, club and team standings, qualifying times for other events (yup you’re cheating your team mates and friends too)

4. Anti fraud and anti scalping protection - swapping bibs creates a “black market” for entry, allowing easy targets for fraudsters, encourages selling entries at inflated prices and undermines fair access through official subs systems.

5. Timing system accuracy

6. Event discipline and future bans

7. Course safety and operational control - expected athlete flow - if you sell your bib to someone faster or slower than you, medical risk planning, cut-offs. Unregistered runners distort these systems and reduce safety control on course.

So now that we all have a better understanding of why it’s illegal to run under another athletes bib, let’s all do better as a running community. There are proper channels to go through, if not certain, email race organisers 💜🩵

I received a few DMs about an incident on Sunday where 2 men ran under women’s bibs, which unfortunately resulted in 2 women missing out on their rightful top 10 finishes — including a rare and meaningful placing opportunity for a club runner.

After sharing this on my stories last night, I wanted to add a bit more context and reflect on it further, including original shared by and many of you.

I don’t believe this was done with the intention of pushing women out of their rightful positions. I know Luke from my time as an ASICS Frontrunner, and he has always been supportive of women in sport.

That said, bib swapping — for any reason — is not acceptable. I understand that entries are sometimes sold or passed on after substitutions close, and people do occasionally race under another person’s name. I’ve regretfully made this mistake early in my running journey before I knew the rules and have not done so since.

However, regardless of intent, this kind of action has real consequences. It impacts race integrity, official results, and in this case, it cost women their rightful places in the top 10 and the opportunity to be recognised alongside athletes they’ve earned the right to stand with, such as and at the prize giving ceremony.

My personal opinion is that there is absolutely NO space for men in women’s sports and I hold this belief very firmly, we’ve come a long way from not allowing women to race…

There is also a serious safety concern here. Bibs are linked to medical information and emergency contact details, incorrect use can create significant risk if something goes wrong on course.

I completely understand the excitement and FOMO around events like — but as athletes, we also have a responsibility to show up with honesty, integrity, and respect for the rules of the sport.

This is not about shaming individuals, but about learning from what happened and doing better moving forward. Bib swapping is against the rules for good reason, and it’s important we take that seriously.

Let’s protect the integrity of our sport and hold ourselves accountable. Keep it clean, fam 🩵💜

I lined up at the start of half today, wasn’t sure what to expect. This is my favourite 21.1km course, got my first sub 2 here last year 🙌

This morning I was a little anxious, I’ve run a marathon and a 30km this year but this is my first half. Spent a lot of time on my legs yesterday supporting the Ultra guys in Hout Bay and then still had a 90 min bike after and a bad nights sleep.

My coach sent me a pretty aggressive pacing plan for today and I was trying out new nutrition brand for the first time (yup not suggested but what’s the worst that can happen) 😉

Somehow everything came together perfectly, I was surprised at how good I felt throughout the whole course! The roads seemed to be a little more clear than last year and up to the last few hundred meters I was living my best life, before a little calf cramp started to twinge.

I was pleasantly surprised when I looked down and saw a half distance PB 🙌

In all a super epic day out and a most massive and heartfelt thank you to for the amazing support, my coach for the support and top notch coaching, my team .athletic and of course the brands I have the privilege of working with 🙏

Ready to crush my first half marathon - of the year 🙌! Still tripping that I've already run a 30km and a marathon before my first half 😂

This is usually my PB race and I'm super stoked to run it on Sunday - going for a PB 🤞 but just enjoying the experience would be enough.

Had an awesome expo time, caught up with friends .revive and chatted with the team (will be testing their nutrition leading up to CT marathon in 6 weeks - stay tuned for updates, and I'm hyped about some new things). Also stocked up on anti-cramping spray

Now, let's get ready to cheer on the ultra marathon runners tomorrow - find us at the marathon mark on your right in Hout Bay, shout hey, and grab some limited Revive sachets or Muscle 32 / Cramp 32 🙌

With all the craziness of this past week plus half marathon approaching, I’ve been feeling a little heavy, tired and icky.

Was so grateful for a lymphatic massage today - the combination of the warmth of the infrared lighting and the massaging of those rollers was just what the doctor ordered 👌

Left feeling lighter, my headache lifted and I feel ready for the weekend 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Just one thing, I highly recommend bringing water with, even better some .revive electrolytes (or any electrolytes you prefer but you know I just LOVE revive)
