Human, Horse and Hound Kinesiology

Human, Horse and Hound Kinesiology Kinesiology is a holistic therapy that boosts the body's natural self-healing ability to achieve optimal health and well-being, the natural way.

Kinesiology is one of the most comprehensive and holistic forms of natural therapy. It recognizes the importance not only of the body, but also of the mind and the spirit when it comes to health. Kinesiology relies on muscle testing, a means of communicating with the body, to identify imbalances in the body’s structural, chemical, mental and emotional energy systems, as well as the external factors that may be affecting your health and well-being. More importantly, kinesiology addresses the communication between these systems. By correcting the imbalances, the kinesiologist is able to boost your body’s innate ability to heal itself and to help you clear the physical, mental, emotional or spiritual barriers that stand between you and your goals. Just as kinesiology can help you, as a human being, to perform and feel at your best, so can it benefit your animal companion, who may also, at some point, feel the effects of stress due to a variety of factors. Kinesiology works in very much the same way in animals as it does in humans, gently restoring the body’s self-healing ability and identifying as well as correcting potential stressors in the animal’s environment, with the owner’s input. It has proved to be particularly efficient with dogs and horses. Among the issues that kinesiology can help solve are nutritional stress, allergies, negative emotional components, pain, the integration of muscle groups, mental and physical coordination and post-surgery recovery, to name but a few. Animal-specific corrections and information are used during a balance, but human corrections may also be relevant. Kinesiology does not treat named diseases, but rather looks for and corrects the underlying issues that have led to the ailment (like nutritional or environmental stressors in the case of allergies, for instance).

Sometimes, we are in a hurry to see positive changes after embarking on a healing journey, and understandably so. However, expectations of a swift resolution may put pressure on the nervous system. We are not HERE, we want to the THERE. However, I believe it is crucial to allow ourselves to be, to integrate, and to relax in the knowledge that our body knows what to do. RIGHT HERE is where the magic happens.

Emotions are messengers. If you ignore or repress some of them for the sake of positivity, you may miss out on important information that would otherwise enable you to understand yourself better or to make necessary, beneficial changes.

Staying positive isn’t about suppressing negative emotions or always being cheerful. It’s about allowing yourself to experience every feeling authentically and without guilt. Embracing the full spectrum of your emotions, understanding that you are multifaceted, and loving every part of yourself is key. The aim is not to achieve a constant state of happiness, but rather to cultivate deep self-acceptance and compassion for all aspects of your being.🌿

Meaningful change starts with acceptance.
Wishing you all a nurturing, inspiring New Year!

On the stroke of midnight tonight, you can resolve to be better, if you like…
to be fitter,
to eat cleaner,
to work harder.

On the stroke of midnight tonight,
you can resolve to become a whole new you,
if you so choose.

Or, you can take a moment to acknowledge
all you already are.
Because it’s a lot.
You’re a lot.

And you deserve to be commended.

On the stroke of midnight tonight, perhaps you could congratulate yourself, for coping.
For breaking, again,
and for rebuilding, again.

For catching the stones life has thrown at you,
and using them to build your castle that little bit stronger.

You have endured, my friend.

And I don’t see the need to resolve to become a whole new you,
when you are already so very much indeed.

Happy new year.

You made it.

Now let us face another 365 day-turn, arms wide,
accepting, embracing and ‘seeing’ each other,
for all we are..

Nuff said...Wishing you a kind, gentle, conscious New Year!

Why do we start a new year, with promises to improve?
Who began this tradition of never-ending pressure?
I say, the end of a year, should be filled with congratulation, for all we survived.
And I say a new year should start with promises to be kinder to ourselves, to understand better just how much we bear, as humans on this exhausting treadmill of life.

And if we are to promise more, let’s pledge to rest, before our bodies force us.
Let’s pledge to stop, and drink in life as it happens.
Let’s pledge to strip away a layer of perfection to reveal the flawed and wondrous humanity we truly are inside.

Why start another year, gifted to us on this earth, with demands on our already over-strained humanity.
When we could be learning to accept, that we were always supposed to be imperfect.
And that is where the beauty lives, actually.
And if we can only find that beauty, we would also find peace.

I wish you peace in 2023.
Everything else is all just a part of it.
Let it be so.

Teaching the Specialised Kinesiology College of SA's latest canine kinesiology course on 25-27 November was so much fun! It was great to see all the happy (and at times very concentrated) human and canine faces all around. A big thank you to the dedicated students, to Jess from Boston & Co for providing a pawesome venue, to Mike from TALKdog Training for offering a very insightful guest talk on dog behaviour, and of course to our adorable canine "clients" and their owners. We have already received some very positive and encouraging feedback 🤩🐶💜
