We are a busy, professional physiotherapy practice seeking a well-organised, friendly, and experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team. This role is central to creating a welcoming, efficient, and supportive environment for our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Welcoming patients warmly and professionally in person and over the phone.
Managing appointment scheduling and diary coordination for multiple physiotherapists.
Handling patient intake, consent forms, and accurate data capture.
Billing and medical aid coordination, including submission of claims and resolving payment queries.
Managing and directing inquiries to appropriate third parties regarding medical billing and medical aid matters.
Maintaining accountability for payments, collections, and receiving of monies.
Managing email communication, referrals, and follow-ups.
Assisting with administrative duties such as scanning, filing, and maintaining electronic and physical records.
Maintaining a neat and tidy reception area at all times to reflect a professional and welcoming environment.
Liaising with referring doctors, other allied health professionals, and hospitals as needed.
Maintaining practice inventory and equipment by:
Checking stock levels,
Anticipating needed supplies,
Placing and expediting orders,
Verifying receipt of supplies,
Scheduling equipment service and repairs.
Protecting patients' rights by maintaining strict confidentiality of all medical, personal, and financial information.
Upholding a high standard of ethics and professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements:
Minimum 1–2 years’ experience as a medical or allied health receptionist.
Fluent in Afrikaans and English (written and spoken).
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and practice management software.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisational and multitasking ability.
Professional appearance and demeanour.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred:
Experience using GOODX or similar medical billing systems.
Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and basic medical aid processes.
Prior experience in a physiotherapy or allied health setting.

Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
Occasionally required to assist with patient queries after hours (via phone/email)
