What is kinesiology?

Kinesiology is derived from the original Greek words “kinein” meaning to move and “aisthesis” meaning perception. Using muscle testing, the body’s biofeedback tool, a practitioner can identify the stressors existing in a body and interpret the actions needed to bring the body back to balance.

Being a holistic treatment, health is considered as being far more than just the physical body aspect. Imbalances in fact show up in three main areas- mental, emotional and physical aspects of a person- and within these three broad groupings- in areas including nutritional, energy and genetic systems.

Based on the guiding principle that the body has the intelligence to heal itself, the practitioner taps into this innate aspect to determine what is out of balance and what needs to be balanced and in what priority and when.

Consider it like a fuse in your home electricity box which has “blown.” So the body gets circuit breakdowns- a blockage in the adaptive loops to maintain balance. Your home electricity circuit box shows this fuse issue by any number of ways- flickering light, appliance not working at all, hissing noise, electrical shocks etc. And so to, the variety of ways a blown circuit in your body shows up- a nutritional or even an emotional “short” as one example can show up in weight gain, low energy, physical stunting and emotional tears.
