‼️🔥 Heatwave in SA: our dogs feel heat even more than we do.
👉 Simple Rule:
If you can’t hold your hand on the pavement for 5 seconds, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws. 🔥🐾
Here are some simple do’s and don’ts to keep your dog safe:
✅ DO:
✔️ Walk early morning or later in the evening when the ground has cooled down.
✔️ Bring water for your dog, especially on longer walks.
✔️ Stick to shaded routes like parks, grass, or tree-lined streets.
✔️ Keep walks shorter when temperatures are high.
❌ DON’T:
✖️ Don’t walk your dog in the midday heat.
✖️ Don’t allow a dog walker to walk your dog during the hottest hours of the day.
✖️ Don’t assume the pavement is safe.
