We stood on the start line as amputees — different paces, different stories, one shared belief:

We weren’t just doing a race.
We participated for every amputee who’s ever wondered, “Do I belong here?”

Taking part in the Pretoria Balwin Sport Run Series 5km with fellow amputees reminded me that we are not limited by what we’ve lost — we are strengthened by it.

This wasn’t just a race.
It was resilience in motion.
A moment to show up for myself, my community, and everyone who’s ever been told they can’t.
Our stories don’t end with loss.
They begin again with purpose.
