I used to count every calorie like it was gospel. But here’s the plot twist... not all calories treat your body the same.

Turns out, some of the foods I thought were “fine” were low-key sabotaging me.

Certain oils? Slowly inflaming my gut and hormones—especially when heated.

Ready-made products? Full of preservatives messing with my metabolism.

Sauces? Hidden sugars and additives hijacking my hunger cues.

So I flipped the script: the closer I eat to whole, real food, the better my body runs. Less drama, less bloat, more energy.

In today’s fast-moving world, we’ve normalised eating science projects in packaging.

So here’s a cheeky question:
If you can’t pronounce it or visualise it growing from the ground... is it really food?

Eat with intention, not less. Your body isn’t a problem to be fixed by eating less — it’s a system that thrives when given the right support.

When you eat with purpose, you fuel processes like hormone balance, metabolism, and energy production.

Here are 5 ways to eat with intention (not restriction):

1. Start your day with protein - It helps stabilise blood sugar and reduces cravings throughout the day.

2. Pause before you eat – Take 5 deep breaths to switch on your “rest-and-digest” system, which improves digestion and satiety.

3. Use the 80/20 rule – 80% whole, nourishing foods and 20% flexibility for enjoyment. This keeps consistency without guilt.

4. Build balanced meals – Include fibre, healthy fats, and protein in each meal to support hormones and mood.

5. Don’t fear carbs – Your brain and ovaries rely on them. Choose whole sources like root veg, oats, or legumes to keep energy steady.

Intentional eating isn’t about perfection, it’s about awareness, nourishment, and respecting your biology.
