We get it, girl! Egg donation is personal. Like, REALLY personal 💛
So we’re here to make it simple, safe, and supported - no fluff, no fear, just facts + care.
Feel free to slide through, DM us, or just take a breath and consider what YOU want - your choices, your pace.

Self-care doesn’t have to be intense or “perfect”, especially when your body’s already going through a lot.
Whether it’s hormones, your cycle, PCOS, endo, or the egg donation process… some days call for softer choices.
Maybe it’s a meal that actually nourishes you, movement that feels good (not exhausting), or just taking a moment to check in with yourself 🙇🏽♀️
When your body and mind are already carrying so much, choosing softness isn’t weakness. It’s how you take care of you 💗

Being an egg donor doesn’t happen in isolation, it happens alongside your everyday life. The routines, the responsibilities, the expectations… all still there.
So if you’re feeling a little more tired, a little out of sync, or just needing to slow things down THAT’S OKAY.
You don’t have to push through everything. You’re allowed to adjust, rest, and take it one day at a time.
Because showing up for something meaningful also means showing up for yourself.

We often get the following two questions about the effects of egg donation and donors health, so let’s talk about it.
“My identity is kept safe, but is my fertility also safe?”
Egg donation does not negatively affect your future fertility. The eggs retrieved during donation are eggs that would otherwise have been lost naturally during your cycle.
Donating your eggs is also an opportunity to assess your own reproductive health at no expense. Overall, the donation process allows a woman to take ownership of her reproductive health, learn more about her body and embrace the different decisions we can make about our bodies.
“And risks?”
There are rare complications like Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) which can cause symptoms like bloating, abdominal pain, nausea, and sometimes vomiting.
We prioritise donor care and monitoring throughout the process. Severe OHSS happens in 1.5% of ED cycles. While complications like Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS) are rare, donor care and monitoring are prioritized throughout the process.
There is also a risk of infection, much like when you get a tattoo or piercing. Your health and well being is vital to us.

How do we ensure your anonymity? 🤔
Your identity as a donor and that of your recipients are strictly confidential, and we never disclose your personal details, your adult photos, or your name.
Only childhood photos up to age 10 years old are seen by the recipient/s looking for a donor
You will not receive any information regarding the recipient/s, and as a donor you are free from any and all responsibility to any child, born from your donation
A record is kept of all donations as well as resultant pregnancies
We take your anonymity very serious and you can be certain that we will keep your identity secret 🫡🤞Triple quadruple super pinky promise!
Your anonymity is our top priority.

Did you know that you can determine to who your donation will go?
You can specify to who you donate to during the application process. Your donation is 100% in your hands.
Many different people need donation eggs to start their families. This included same-sex couples, single parents and people with health conditions preventing them from conceiving by themselves.
Most recipients have often exhausted various fertility treatments, making egg donation a hopeful and final option. We do not discriminate 💗 our only goal is to help people realise their dreams of starting a family.

Know your rights ⭐️🧑🏾⚖️
Egg donation is completely legal and done 100% anonymously. Recipients ONLY see the “Donor Alias” that contains limited information about your appearance.
Additionally there are many laws and regulations that protect you. Everything is covered and governed by the National Health Act (Act no 61 of 2003) as well as an ethical body called SASREG that regulates and oversees everything.
The law in South Africa allows financial compensation for reasonable expenses and travel expenses to and from the clinic. According to South African law, an egg donor may not have more than 6 children born from their donated eggs. These laws protect you, the donor, as well as the recipient.
You are in safe hands ❤️ Happy Human Rights Day

Founded in 2007, Egg Donation South Africa (EDSA) was the first truly South African egg donor agency. It is currently run by a group of like-minded medical and science professionals, each of whom is highly experienced in the field of IVF. Our professionals have adopted a pragmatic approach to providing an expert service, but believe strongly in balancing the technical side of the work with a sense of humanity and the desire to serve. Our team strives to offer an exceptional level of service and to give the best possible care to each recipient and donor.
In many cases, couples seek our assistance after struggling to start a family for many years. We aim to provide a service that is fast and effective. In most cases, our recipients are well-informed when it comes to the IVF process and the egg donation procedure, which means we are able to focus on obtaining the best possible match between our donors and recipients with the least amount of effort on the part of our recipients.
Meet the team:
EDSA is run by Kimenthra Raja, a South African IVF professional who believes that expertise and humility are universally appreciated. Kinny Ramoeng manages our egg donors, and as a consummate professional, she takes time to get to know each donor, in order to make their experience a rewarding one. She ensures that each our recipients and donors are well supported throughout the process. She is constantly humbled and encouraged by the generous and willing spirit of our donors, and finds that each match between a recipient and their donor is gratifying and meaningful.
