CCMDD (Central Chronic Medicines Dispensing and Distribution) program roadshows and community events are organised in communities countrywide to offer clients the opportunity to enquire at the service tables of various partners about the client support programs. A World AIDS Day event on 1 December at the Sisa Dukashe Stadium in the Buffalo Bay Municipality focussed on “Take the right path: My health, my right!", which highlighted that everyone has the right to quality healthcare services. BroadReach, a partner of the National Department of Health, was actively involved at the event, offering information and referral services to clients enquiring about CCMDD and the registration in the Dablapmeds program.

An impactful World AIDS Day event on 1 December dedicated to supporting those affected by HIV/AIDS and promoting the CCMDD (Central Chronic Medicines Dispensing and Distribution) chronic care program was held in Eastern Cape, Sisa Dukashe Stadium in the Buffalo City Municipality.

The community learned how the government is helping patients living with chronic conditions like HIV, diabetes, and hypertension. Once a patient’s condition is stable, they can register for the CCMDD program, which delivers medication monthly to a convenient pickup point.

The event was a great success! Many attendees were eager to learn more about CCMDD and how to enroll. Informative leaflets, engaging discussions, and giveaways made the day both educational and enjoyable.

Services offered included: HIV Testing, Blood Pressure Checks, Dental Services, Teen Health & Pregnancy Education, and CCMDD Education & Registration

The Bojanala District Department of Health recently hosted a DablapMeds roadshow in Makapanstad, Moretele Sub-district in Northwest Province. The aim of the roadshow was to create community awareness on the importance and advantages of enrolling onto the program.

The roadshow was attended by the BroadReach Health Development team as part of the technical assistance support, they provide to the Province. The DablapMeds program which offers stable chronic patients a convenient way to access their medication by choosing an external pick-up point. Patients get a 6-month script which is dispensed every 2 or 3 months and they only need to visit the clinic twice a year for blood tests to monitor progress. This helps to reduce long queues and waiting time at our facilities!
