Our aim
Our aim is to enable people to receive affordable alcohol and drug rehabilitation in an often confusing market. It has been identified that guidance at this difficult time for both the addict and their close family and friends is essential. Guidance not from the treatment centers themselves but from an independent source, someone who has been through the challenging process of relocating in a long journey of achieving sobriety. Once we find a suitable treatment centre for the individual, the support doesn't end there, in fact that's where the journey begins. From airport transfers, pick ups for meetings to the social side of recovery, everything is covered because we are active in the heart of the recovery community in Cape Town. Background
Everyone who works for us are recovering addicts and/or alcoholics who have travelled the often heart wrenching journey of sobriety. In accordance with official recovery groups, the most effective way for us to maintain our sobriety is to assist the addict who is new in recovery and this is why our approach works. Aside from any money made to keep us going, our rewards come from making the process of recovery as user friendly as possible, it keeps us busy and, more importantly, sober. On a personal note, I arrived in Cape Town following a major breakdown in everything I held dear to me. At the time, my life was essentially over, any hope of a future seemed gone. Alcohol had literally robbed me of all I had. You can read more about that on my personal site www.alcoholfreeme.com if you are interested. Anyway, that was then and the one thing that struck me was how alone and isolated I felt having flown 6000 to be amongst complete strangers, in a new country and not having an understanding of recovery. I was angry, resentful and full of fear and I muddled my through at the beginning but would have benefitted from a friendly face who could just tell me that things do get better as it's impossible to believe that they can at the time. This is why we exist, to offer support through those initial stages when things can seem overwhelming. Our enthusiasm and our personal links to some of the best quality and value rehabs in Cape Town makes for the perfect partnership to give you the best possible chance of achieving sobriety. Social
Having lived in Cape Town for over three years now, I have built up a great circle of friends, mostly people who are also in recovery. Socially, my life has changed dramatically giving me more and more confidence to enjoy life. Local knowledge is essential when advising on the perfect place to recover and Cape Town ticks all the boxes for me. Beautiful scenery and a vibrant social life (I've never had so many Braais aka BBQ's in all my life!) amongst both addicts and non-addicts is the perfect mix. All this, and of course my personal experience, has formed my honest belief that Cape Town is amongst the best places in the world to recover. It's not just about putting down the alcohol or drugs, it's about what comes after that, it's about having a life. What to do next? See the Contact Us section of the website and let's have a chat! As an ex pat from the UK, I am aware of the high prices paid for detox and rehab facilities in the UK and other parts of the world (I myself spent a small fortune on my initial stint before discovering that I could do it at a fraction of the price over here). With our local connections we can guarantee you the best price and with our costs covered can offer that personalised support often lacking for people from afar. It's as simple as that, you will have a local contact at all times should you have any queries or questions.
