Liewe Pasiënte,

Ons is opgewonde om met julle te deel dat Wierdamed Mediese Praktyk weer heropen het, en ons sien daarna uit om beide bekende en nuwe gesigte weer in ons spreekkamers te verwelkom.

Na meer as ’n jaar se sluiting is die praktyk nou onder nuwe bestuur en ons werk op ’n splinternuwe pasiëntestelsel. As deel van hierdie oorgang word alle pasiënte – oud en nuut – versoek om ’n nuwe pasiëntvorm in te vul.

Ons verstaan dat dit vir sommige dalk frustrerend mag wees, en ons vra omverskoning vir enige ongerief. Hierdie proses is egter nodig om te verseker dat ons elke pasiënt met die grootste sorg en akkuraatheid kan hanteer.

Hierdie opdaterings stel ons in staat om u beter te versorg, met verbeterde prosesse en ’n hernude toewyding aan medelydende en persoonlike sorg.

After being closed for over a year, our practice is now under new management and running on a completely new patient system. As part of this transition, all patients—both existing and new—will be required to complete a new patient file.

Founded in 1990 by my father, Dr Willem Meyer, Wierdamed has always stood for compassionate, patient-focused care. I’m honoured to continue this legacy as we reopen our doors on 1 August 2025.

Over the past five years, I’ve gained invaluable experience working in the Trauma and Emergency Unit at one of the country’s leading hospitals. I’ve also worked in outpatient care and built hands-on theatre experience, particularly in orthopaedic and neurosurgical procedures. This time has shaped me not only clinically, but also reminded me of my true calling: to care for patients with compassion and a holistic approach.

At Wierdamed, we see each person as more than just a diagnosis. I believe that meaningful healthcare happens through relationships, where we listen, collaborate, and walk the road to health together. Whether it’s prevention, treatment, or ongoing care, I aim to support you at every stage of life.

We offer the full scope of general practice services, with trusted specialist referrals where needed. Every visit matters, and every patient is met with the care they deserve.

This is a reminder that Wednesday, August 14, 2024 will be the final day to collect your medical records from Wierdamed. We will be open for collections from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

Please ensure you pick up your records during this time to have them for your personal records.

We want to assure you that your medical care and records will continue to be in safe hands.

🩺Medical Records: Your medical information will still be accessible through most medical aid apps. These platforms ensure that your records are secure and easily available for future consultations.

🩸Blood Tests: Any blood test results you have will remain available at the laboratories where they were performed. Your medical provider can contact the lab directly if you need to access these results.

🩻 X-rays and Radiology Reports: Your X-ray and radiology records will be stored at the radiologist's office. These will be available for any future medical needs.
