Heart Health Over 40, 50 & 60
Your heart works tirelessly for you every single day — but as we age, its needs change. Each decade brings new priorities to keep your heart strong and healthy.
In your 40s
This is the time to know your numbers. High blood pressure and high cholesterol often have no symptoms but can quietly increase your risk for heart disease. Regular screening is essential.
In your 50s
The risk of diabetes and heart disease becomes higher. Screening for diabetes, keeping an eye on weight, and managing stress all play a vital role in protecting your heart.
In your 60s and beyond
Staying active, eating a balanced diet, and attending regular check-ups help keep your heart strong. Even small lifestyle changes can make a big difference at this stage.
In your 70s and beyond
Focus on maintaining quality of life. Gentle activity, heart-healthy meals, and regular medical care can help prevent complications. Medication reviews and routine monitoring become especially important to keep your heart supported.
The truth is: Your heart deserves lifelong care.
Book your heart health consultation — prevention today means protection tomorrow.

High blood pressure is called the “silent killer” because it often has no symptoms until it causes serious problems like heart attack, stroke, or kidney damage.
Risk factors include:
- Family history
- High salt diet
- Smoking
- Lack of exercise
- Stress
- Age (risk rises after 40)
Protect yourself:
- Check your BP regularly
- Reduce salt, alcohol, and smoking
- Stay active
- Manage stress
- Take prescribed medication if needed
You can feel perfectly fine and still have dangerously high blood pressure. Don’t wait for symptoms — get checked.

Spring = Hay Fever Season
As flowers bloom, pollen and dust fill the air — and that means sneezing, itchy eyes, and blocked noses for many South Africans.
What you can do:
✔️ Keep windows closed on high-pollen days
✔️ Shower and change clothes after being outdoors
✔️ Stay hydrated
✔️ Use prescribed antihistamines or nasal sprays for symptom control – talk to us if you are uncertain
Don’t let hay fever steal your spring joy — manage your symptoms and enjoy the season!

This season, let your wellbeing bloom as brightly as the flowers.
Happy Spring Day from the Wierdamed Team🌸
