May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month! 🧴☀️ When shopping for sunscreen, look for these key features to protect your skin effectively:

1. Broad-Spectrum Protection: Shields against both UVA and UVB rays.
2. SPF 30 or Higher: Provides adequate protection from UVB rays.
3. Water-Resistant: Stays effective when you sweat or swim.
4. Non-Comedogenic: Won’t clog pores, ideal for all skin types.
5. Ingredients: Look for antioxidants which give you added benefits- like vitamin C, niacinamide, and vitamin E.

Stay safe under the sun, and remember even during colder seasons sunscreen is a must!

As it is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, I was invited to an event hosted by Bioderma and Orme (an eye-ware company). We had an amazing time with Bioderma and Orme discussing the serious topic of melanoma around the eyelids and eyes, and how protection around the eyes is also key in preventing skin cancers around the eye area.

😎🕶️ Tried some stylish eyewear from Orme to highlight the importance of good eye protection which was also fun.

Remember that Skin Cancer awareness and protection is important!

Thank you to and to for the invitation.

Vitamin C is a popular, well researched ingredient in skincare, Vitamin C serum brightens skin, reduces signs of aging, boosts collagen production, and protects against sun damage.

Here's how you can make the most of your vitamin C serum;

1. Cleanse First: Start with a clean face.
2. Dry Skin: Apply to dry skin.
3. Use a Few Drops: 2-3 drops are enough.
4. Pat Gently: Pat, don’t rub!
5. Moisturise: Follow with a moisturiser.
6. Sunscreen: Always use SPF in the morning.
7. Start Slow: Begin every other day.
8. Store Properly: Keep it cool and dark.
9. Patch Test: Test on a small area first.

Please comment below if you would like me to share different options of vitamin C serums.

Skin cancer is more than just a surface concern. It's a serious condition where abnormal growths of skin cells can develop into tumors. These growths can be caused by various factors, including exposure to harmful UV rays from the sun or tanning beds.

Early detection is key! Regular skin checks and understanding your skin's ABCDEs:
❗A: Asymmetry
❗B: Border irregularity
❗C: Colour variation
❗D: Diameter larger than a pencil eraser
❗E: Evolution over time

This Skin Cancer Awareness Month, let's commit to protecting our skin, raising awareness, and prioritising our health. Together, we can reduce the risk and impact of skin cancer💙

Rosacea affects millions worldwide, yet it's often misunderstood. It looks like redness, flushing, and sometimes acne-like bumps, rosacea can take a toll on self-confidence. Here are ways to manage and minimise its impact on your life:

🫧Gentle Cleansing: Opt for a mild, non-abrasive cleanser to wash your face twice daily.

☀️Sun Protection: Shield your skin from harmful UV rays with a broad-spectrum sunscreen daily.

🧪Skincare Ingredients: Look for skincare products formulated for sensitive skin and free of common irritants. Ingredients like niacinamide and ceramides can help strengthen the skin barrier.

🔎Trigger Identification: Keep a diary to track potential triggers like spicy foods, alcohol, hot beverages, and extreme temperatures. Identifying and avoiding triggers can help reduce flare-ups.

🩺Medical Treatment: Consult a dermatologist for personalised treatment options.

Remember, managing rosacea is a journey, but with the right approach and support from your dermatologist, you can keep flare-ups at bay.

Glycerin is a skincare, body care, and hair care hero ingredient that offers a multitude of benefits for your beauty routine. Here are three key reasons why glycerin deserves a spot in your regimen:

1️⃣ Hydration Powerhouse: Glycerin is a humectant, which means it attracts moisture from the environment and binds it to the skin, helping to keep it hydrated and supple. In skincare products, glycerin helps to replenish and lock in moisture, leaving your skin feeling soft and smooth.

2️⃣ Barrier Booster: Glycerin also plays a vital role in maintaining the skin's natural barrier function. By forming a protective layer on the skin's surface, it helps to prevent moisture loss and shields against environmental stressors, pollutants, and irritants. This makes it especially beneficial for those with dry, sensitive, or compromised skin.

3️⃣ Antimicrobial Properties: Glycerin has natural antimicrobial properties that help to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the skin and scalp, keeping them clean and healthy.

Have you spotted glycerin on any of your products in your cabinet?

Did you know that hyperpigmentation is not actually a diagnosis in itself, but rather a broad term that refers to the darkening of the skin? Let's break it down:

Hyperpigmentation occurs when there is an overproduction of melanin, the pigment that gives our skin its color. This can be triggered by various factors such as sun exposure, hormonal changes, inflammation, and skin injuries.

Please read through the slides to learn more about some of the different types of hyperpigmentation.
