Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is the hands-on, personalized and comprehensive approach to pain free movement, optimum function, increased flexibility and rehabilitation of the human body. The body often stores and accumulates patterns of physical tension from injury, environmental stressors, disease and disorders compromising optimal wellbeing. Physiotherapists have an in-depth understanding of the human body and can assess restrictions, help to reduce pain and also release tension or stress patterns both locally and throughout the body. Physiotherapy can benefit people of all ages, from newborns to the elderly, with a focus on maximizing your quality of life, helping the body to bring balance between body systems and increase vitality. Craniosacral Therapy
Craniosacral Therapy was pioneered and developed by osteopathic physician John. At the time he was working as a clinical researcher and Professor of Biomechanics at College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan state University. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a non-massage, gentle, hands on therapy that releases tensions and restrictions deep within the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve overall health and vitality. Massage Therapy
After more than 20 years of physiotherapy experience the benefits of massage are undeniable. I have found that a combination of traditional massage therapy, and the use of dōTERRA essential oils, (CPTG Certified Pure Tested Grade ) can greatly benefit my clients. This holistic hands-on approach has been proved to affect the body on multiple levels, giving you the best of both worlds. Aroma Touch is another one of these regimes, developed by dōTERRA , and also incorporates techniques from reflexology . Massage is provided in specific pressure points on the back, shoulders, neck, head, hands, and feet. These pressure points are thought to aid in relaxation and further accelerate the ability to bring back a sense of balance in our autonomic nervous system. This is a clever way to maintain wellness and fight inflammation, minimizing the effects of stress and environmental toxins on our overall health. Lymphatic Balancing
Lymphatic Balancing , as taught worldwide by the D’Ambrogio Institute, expands on the traditional approach to lymphedema, by designing special manual lymphatic drainage techniques pioneerd by Emil Vodder, PhD (Vodder Method), Bruno Chikly MD, DO (Lymph Drainage Therapy), and Albert Leduc PT, PhD (Leduc method) with the addition of traditional osteopathic lymphatic pumping techniques ,making it very relevant to orthopedic injuries. Lymphatic Balancing techniques help to remove the accumulated waste and relieve congestion of lymph fluid in and around tissues. Furthermore, the lymphatic system assist the immune system by removing excess toxins, fluid, debris, and damaged cells from injured tissue and consequently helps with tissue healing, pain relieve and increased range of movement. Treating Babies:
This approach to baby care, as taught internationally by the Kindred Academy, makes use of gentle movements, to assess and optimize how your newborn’s joints and muscles are moving. During the last few weeks of pregnancy your baby might run out of space to comfortably move around. Your little one often becomes stuck into a position that prevents it from moving the neck, back and limbs into more comfortable positions, causing stress to your baby. During the birth process a lot of strain is put on the baby’s tiny body and this can add further discomfort to your baby. Often this tightness is not noticed because your baby is not moving around as much. These movement restrictions, as well as the birth process itself, can cause a lot of stress for your baby and will subsequently affect you as a mom also. It is important to help your baby settle as stress-free as possible into its new world and allow time for bonding with your precious baby. This therapy is effective because it influences a lot of what makes your baby feel comfortable, happy and content. Releasing tension in your baby’s body will be beneficial for many conditions including sleeping patterns, colic, reflux, constipation and feeding issues.
