Today my eyes tear up a bit more easily. At the videos, posts and words given to describe a Mom, that try to pin the essence of being one.

I never knew I'd be so overwhelmed. So tired. So happy.

There's nothing that can accurately describe how Motherhood feels. It's so different for each of us.

For me, I can try to describe...

Pure joy at little one running towards me, ready to leap into my arms.

Deep regret when my patience has run out and I've reacted in a way that's hurtful and even scary.

Absolutely proud and beaming when they utter a clever explanation or answer from their childlike brilliance.

Amazed at what they accomplish on their own.

Fascinated by how they can keep themselves busy and play as if they see a world completely different to mine.

I sometimes wish I could pause time, keep them in this phase of seeking hugs and kisses and wanting to stay in my arms.
Other times I wish I can fast forward and get over the tiring tantrums, the wakeful nights and the constant tidying -up!

I know that this is the best thing I could ever wish for. Motherhood, with all its trails and faults, with all my flaws and thoughts.

It's the most colourful of times!
