On 27 November, a bold collaboration between Respiratory Care Africa, the Innovative Surgery Fund, and the Obesity Community Fund started to tackle South Africa’s obesity crisis actively. This groundbreaking initiative gave four patients life-saving bariatric surgery at reduced costs. In addition to helping patients, this program trains South African surgeons in advanced bariatric techniques, ensuring that more lives can be transformed.
