Medication Therapy Management is a patient safety 1 hour service necessary for all medicine users to understand their regimen, eliminate self medication errors and protect their internal organ health for as long as possible. It also helps pharmacist apply theory clinical and pharmaceutical care skills to a greater or full extend in their community.

Mihlali Ndamase darling, please come to us in Centurion next time uneflu. Many others especially in corporate wont check, or ask the necessary questions to verify duplications and interactions.

ANALYSIS:
The flustat already has vitamin C /ascorbic acid. That's duplication. Anymore and your just buying expensive urine.

The flustat already has acetaminophen/paracetamol for pain and fever no need for ibuprofen. That's potentiation.

Flustat has an antihistamine and Actophlem also has a similar antihistamine. That's duplication.

Lastly theophylline is a problematic substance in general especially for those who take caffeine and or smoke. Avoid when possible.

Guys before you load up on medicines (self-medicate) please verify your safety with an MTM pharmacist... polypharmacy is not good.

Your liver and kidneys will thank you. When you're still young, they will take the hit but soon they will start complaining... and by then it's irreversible.

Choose our Medication TM session for real, in-depth, pharmacare

Where do you go with your burden?

Many of us walk around like we're ok, but carry unimaginable burdens. Some are so heavy and consuming that you're at your breaking point.

Pharmacists who work for companies and haven't been paid for months...

Pharmacists who have been unfairly dismissed...

Pharmacists who's registrations are stalled for months...

Pharmacists who are denied to practicing due to pending administrative or legal delays...

Pharmacists who are starving...

Pharmacists who are unemployed for too long now...

Pharmacists who are hopeless...

Pharmacists who are treated like absolute sh*t on a daily basis by abusing managers at work...

Pharmacy students who are discriminated and experience blatant racism at university...

Pharmacists who face macro and microagressions for just doing their job...

Where do you turn?

Pharmacy final year students, listen:

You only have 2 years to make a difference in the rest of your career. 95% of us didn't have sound financial advise. Bought depreciating items and dug holes in our pockets before even understanding how money works.

Take this like your big sister advise who really cares for your future...
Pharmacy is NOT what it was, and economies are not getting better either. If you don't learn finances for yourself, youll repeat the same mistakes we did. Start with savings. Exercise that muscle early. You will need to either start your own pharmacy or invest in real estate or stocks, once your nest is built. Otherwise you WILL struggle for a long long time like the majority.

THATS A GUARENTEE.

Save every cent you get during internship and comm service.

Min R20k x 12 months = R240 000
and R30k x 12 months = R360 000

At the end of those 2 years you will have at least R600 000.

listen to me: don't fumble these 24 golden months.

DO NOT FUMBLE YOUR SETUP BAG.

Stay home/with family, share apartments/ flats, live on premise... walk, hike, take taxis, eat beans everyday... do the absolute most to save your coins as if your life depends on it (because it does).

You'll be set for life.

You will be able to retire at 40 if you want.
If you're an intern reading this, it's not too late. 3 months left in 2025 and 12 months of com serve will still get you far enough...

I can't stress this enough.

You need to drastically shift your financial mindset, in order to live like the 1%.

Don't believe me?
look around.

I'll go in deeper with our academy private mentee group but yea. Take it very seriously from here.

Sincerely,
Coach P

🗣 Pharmacists are this
🗣 Pharmacists are that

Why are we trying so hard to convince the public?

No other health professionals proclaim their "worth and value" more than Pharmacists and still... it falls flat?!

Why?

Perhaps because these theoretical affirmations are NOT observed in reality. The public isn't buying it. They don't believe us.

When someone's lived experience is contrary to the rhetoric... it's inauthentic or feels false. Are we deceptive? 😵‍💫
Nah. We just know what we know but don't make it apparent to the masses in practice.

🥺We say we are the medicine experts but can't provide expertise during a patient interaction at the OTC counter (no matter the valid reason) ?

🥺We say we know all the drugs on the market better than anyone but tell patients to ask their doctors cuz we don't know (ive heard many pharmacists tell their patients they dont know)?

🥺We say we are safety custodians yet rarely shut the flood gates of polypharmacy (no matter the motives).

We just end up being incredible. 🤥

🛟What if we stopped lip service and actually enhanced face-to-face service?

🛟What if we stopped telling of our greatness and started showing our greatness?

🚨What if the public didn't have to be convinced because they became witnesses to the difference and transformation a pharmacist brought in their own lives?

Pharmacists on the front line who see patients each and everyday: your job is one - embody and enact your knowledge

Your assistants must realise ...
Your patients must experience ...
Your prescribers must understand ...
Your managers must know ...

🔑tell them the errors caught
🔑show them the rationale
🔑speak on preventive measures
🔑offer deeper insight
🔑make the clinical apparent
🔑screen with accuracy
🔑present the evidence-based science
🔑follow up on therapeutic outcomes
🔑enforce the regulations

Is pharmacy month for professionals or for the public?!

It seems that year in and year out, these often underwhelming themes given to us (by what seems to be an out of touch elite), to do what we may without much guidance to concert our efforts.

Should pharmacy month be up to interpretation for everyone? Should each pharmacist use their own creativity and measures to make their interpretation materialize in their workplaces?

The "one time" of the year that we actually need an agenda pushed hard, it doesn't happen. 🤷‍♀️

How will any real impact result if efforts are scattered and shattered? We event wait to be told without having an input or vote...

Shouldnt national campaigns be championed by the local or national pharmacy community? This would be a great opportunity for SAPC to send us an SMS or email poll.

It's great to have FIP influence but FIP will never address SA issues specifically, so parallel advocacy is needed.

FIP wont fix SA unemployment of pharmacists, training & specialization issues of pharmacists, scope issues of pharmacists, govt & public perceptions of pharmacy/ists, ownership issues, sluggish licensing bureaucracy, corporate takeovers, codeine and AM access issues etc.

Should pharmacy month activities be directed inwardly towards professionals or outwardly to the public?

There has never been one govt advert on TV or on radio to advovate / educate the public about pharmacy... is that a far fetched thought? Shows like Espresso do have the ICPA on a few times but that's different.

Pharmacy seems to be a profession only for pharmacists to understand and cry about to themselves.

Even the PSSA has the most secretive approach when it comes to notices, news, and public awareness. Why are they such a secret society?

What is really going on?

It seems so obvious that the public needs to be involved in becoming more aware of "pharmacy" and their "interactions with medicines" right? So why aren't they increasingly learning through pharmacy month each year?

I got so many questions... nje!
