Yesterday was a sacred gift — one of those rare moments in life where love, friendship, purpose, and legacy meet in one room.
I had the honour of speaking as a friend at the wedding of my best friend of 18 years, Klaas Majaphage, as he entered a new and beautiful chapter with his wife, Nqabisa Majaphage, in East London, Eastern Cape. Standing there, witnessing their union, reminded me of how deeply life rewards those who remain faithful to becoming the best versions of themselves.
Klaas and I have lived through almost two decades of stories — seasons of laughter, growth, loss, rebuilding, silence, hard conversations, and countless triumphant comebacks. We have seen each other at our highest and our most broken. And through it all, we chose to remain close, honest, accountable, prayerful, and resilient.
Klaas is that friend who does not only survive life — he rises from it. I have watched him navigate ups and downs that would crush many, yet he always returns stronger, wiser, more grounded, and more committed to love, purpose, leadership, and becoming. To see him loved, honoured, and celebrated yesterday felt like witnessing the fulfilment of a long-awaited promise.
And then came Nqabisa — poised, warm, centred, deeply gracious, and beautifully aligned with his destiny. Their union made sense. It felt divinely arranged, thoughtfully timed, and spiritually confirmed. Together, they carry a harmony that gives hope — the kind of marriage that builds families, strengthens communities, and inspires possibility.
To the Majaphages — may your home be a sanctuary of joy, peace, abundance, laughter, partnership, healing, and unshakeable friendship. May your love remain bigger than any storm and gentler than any wound. May you continue becoming, together.
I left East London filled with gratitude — for friendship that grows, for love that restores, and for life that continues to unfold with meaning.
Here’s to 18 years of brotherhood — and a lifetime more of witnessing your becoming. Congratulations, my friends. Your story is only getting started.
