20 Years in Psychology 🧠💫
This year marks two decades since I began my journey as a psychology professional.

It’s been more than a career — it’s been a calling.
A journey of healing, transformation, growth, and finding my voice… so I could help others find theirs.

Over the years, I’ve evolved — not just in knowledge and skill, but in heart, soul, and purpose.
Every client. Every stage. Every conversation. Every breakthrough.

Today, I stand grounded in:
Mental Clarity. Spiritual Depth. Life Mastery.
And I remain committed to serving, shaping, and strengthening my generation.

Thank you to every person who has been part of this journey. The best is still unfolding. 🙏🏽✨

MAZINDO MENTORSHIP MOMENT ✨

LOOKING BACK AND GOING FORWARD
Referencing the Past Without Living There

“The past is the place of reference, not a place of residence.”
“You are not the prisoner of your past. You are the pioneer of your future.”
— Dr. David Molapo

Many people do not heal, grow, or thrive because of their loyalty to a past that wounded them.

Loyalty to old pain.
Old thoughts.
Old emotions.
Old behaviours.
Old self-talk.

Things that once helped them survive, but are now quietly working against them.

As a therapist, I teach about childhood trauma to explain behaviour, not excuse it.
The goal is awareness, because what becomes conscious can be changed consciously.

Pain should inform you, not define you.

For a long time, I lived my life looking behind.
I held on to depression, anxiety, and childhood trauma not because I wanted to suffer, but because familiar suffering often feels safer than unfamiliar healing.

Letting go felt unsafe.
Who would I be without the patterns that kept me surviving?

My healing began when I released the thoughts, feelings, behaviours, relationships, and self-talk that kept me bound to misery, and embraced those that moved me forward.

True freedom is not when prison doors open.
It is when you release yourself from:
• draining relationships
• outdated coping strategies
• dysfunctional survival mechanisms

Healing is not forgetting the past.
It is refusing to let it lead.

Look back to learn.
Then go forward with intention.

You are not the prisoner of your past.
You are the pioneer of your future.

2026 Carries Nothing for You That You Will Not Bring Into It

Years don’t change lives — people do. If nothing shifts internally, a new year simply recycles old patterns with a new calendar. 2026 will not reward intention alone; it will respond to clarity, discipline, and responsibility.

To make 2026 your year — to prosper, succeed, and truly flourish — commit to these seven fundamentals:

1. Stop waiting to feel ready. Readiness is a decision, not a feeling. Start now and grow forward.

2. Audit what drains you. Reduce habits, relationships, and routines that consume energy without producing growth.

3. Build one non-negotiable daily discipline. One small, consistent practice compounds into momentum.

4. Heal what you keep carrying forward. Unresolved pain follows you into every season unless you process it.

5. Choose structure over motivation. Motivation fades; structure sustains progress.

6. Protect your vision. Not everyone deserves access to your process — some only get to see the results.

7. Decide who you are becoming, not just what you want. Identity creates outcomes; goals are by-products.

2026 will not rescue you — it will respond to you.

Bring clarity, and you’ll meet direction.

Bring discipline, and you’ll meet momentum.

Bring healing, and you’ll meet peace.

The year is ready. The real question is: Are you?

2026: The Year of Massive Achievements

Foundational Declaration & Opening Message

By Lehlohonolo Mazindo
Mental Clarity. Spiritual Depth. Life Mastery.

2026 is not entering your life to motivate you — it is entering to measure you.

This is The Year of Massive Achievements, not because life will suddenly become easier, but because excuses will no longer be tolerated — by your spirit, your purpose, or your future self. This year demands personal authority, radical alignment, and uncompromised clarity.

Personal authority means you stop negotiating with what you already know. No more outsourcing responsibility to trauma, timing, people, or the past. In 2026, you don’t wait to be pushed — you decide, you move, you lead yourself.

Radical alignment means your prayers, goals, habits, relationships, and daily choices must finally agree. You can no longer ask for growth while protecting comfort. Alignment will cost you familiarity, but it will reward you with momentum.

Uncompromised clarity means seeing clearly what must end, what must evolve, and what must be left behind — without guilt, fear, or nostalgia. Clarity is not cruelty; it is self-respect.

This year will not reward wishful thinking.
It will reward decisions.
It will not respond to motivation.
It will respond to alignment.

2026 will expose half-commitments, misplaced loyalties, and identities built for survival rather than achievement. And that exposure is not punishment — it is preparation.

Massive achievements will not come from doing more.
They will come from being congruent — when who you are, what you do, and where you’re going finally match.

This is not the year to try.
This is the year to execute.
To choose yourself without apology.
To stop carrying what can’t cross over.

Welcome to 2026: The Year of Massive Achievements.
May your life finally reflect your truth.

From Intention to Authority: The Inner Shift That Will Define Your 2026 ✨

Crossing into a more successful 2026 won’t require a new year — it will require personal authority, radical alignment, and uncompromised clarity.

Personal authority is the moment you stop outsourcing your life to circumstances, people, culture, or past wounds. It is when you reclaim the right to decide who you are, what you tolerate, and where you are going — without needing permission, validation, or applause.

Radical alignment follows. This is where your values, choices, relationships, and daily habits begin to agree with your truth. No more saying one thing and living another. No more praying for growth while protecting comfort. Alignment is uncomfortable because it demands consistency — but it is also deeply freeing.

Then comes uncompromised clarity. Clarity that is no longer blurred by guilt, loyalty to the past, or fear of being misunderstood. This clarity allows you to see what must end, what must evolve, and what must finally be released — not because it is bad, but because it is no longer aligned with who you are becoming.

A successful 2026 will not be built by motivation, resolutions, or vision boards alone. It will be built by the courage to stop carrying into the next season the habits, relationships, and beliefs that have already proven they cannot take you where you are going.

Growth does not respond to hope — it responds to alignment.

And alignment begins the moment you choose yourself without apology.

Happy crossover to 2026 — The Year of Massive Achievements!!!

CROSSING OVER MAJESTICALLY

LEHLOHONOLO MAZINDO
Mental Clarity. Spiritual Depth. Life Mastery.

Today is the last Saturday of the year.
Not just an ending, but a threshold.

Most people cross into a new year unconsciously, carrying old wounds, familiar fears, and unfinished selves, hoping time will heal what courage avoided.

It won’t.

Years don’t heal people.
Awareness does. Alignment does. Courage does.

There is a version of you that survived. That version was necessary, but it may no longer be sufficient.

What you do not heal, you will organise your life around.

Healing is reclaiming authority over your present.
Growth is releasing identities built for survival.
Thriving is inner stability before outer success.

In 2026, don’t rush.
Don’t perform.
Don’t abandon yourself to belong.

Choose depth over noise.
Alignment over approval.
Becoming over proving.

Don’t just survive 2026.
Heal. Grow. Thrive.
From the inside out.

I’ll be joining eNCA this afternoon at 14:30 for an important conversation on Reclaiming the Spirit of Christmas.

We’ll be exploring how the true meaning of Christmas has gradually faded, the emotional and social impact of that shift, and how we can return to a season rooted in connection, compassion, and hope. In a time marked by pressure, comparison, and fatigue, this conversation invites us to pause, reflect, and choose meaning over excess.

If you’re seeking perspective, encouragement, or a reminder of what truly matters, I invite you to tune in and be part of the conversation.

HEART at WORK!!!

MASTERING THE INNER GAME FOR EXTERNAL GAIN

An African proverb says, “When there’s no enemy within, the enemy outside can do us no harm.”
Yet many chase external wins while ignoring the inner world shaping every result they get.

In psychology, personality creates personal reality. Your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours quietly determine how you perform, relate, and succeed.

For years, my outer life reflected an inner world that was unhealed.
Unexamined beliefs shaped my decisions.
Unregulated emotions showed up in my relationships.
Even my marriage collapsed, not from lack of love, but from lack of inner mastery.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:
You can hustle into opportunities your inner world is not prepared to sustain, then sabotage what you prayed for.

My life shifted when I stopped asking, “How do I win out there?”
and started asking, “Who am I being in here?”

As my inner world stabilised, my outer world aligned.

You don’t experience life as it is.
You experience life as you are.

Before chasing the next achievement, master your inner world.
That is where real power lives.

ECONCILIATION DAY: THE MOST FORGOTTEN RECONCILIATION — WITH YOURSELF ✨

Today, South Africa commemorates Reconciliation Day — a day largely centred on healing divisions between people. That work is necessary. But there is a deeper, more uncomfortable reconciliation we often avoid: Reconciliation With Ourselves.

We are living in a world that subtly — and sometimes violently — teaches us to trade authenticity for attachment. To belong, we learn to perform. To be accepted, we learn to shrink. To survive, we learn to abandon parts of ourselves.

And this is where the roots of many psychological illnesses and dis-eases are found.

Dis-ease begins when we cause harm to ourselves by cutting our own corners to fit into systems, families, cultures, and societies that were never designed to hold our truth. We numb our intuition. We silence our voice. We betray our values. Over time, the mind and body register this self-betrayal as anxiety, depression, burnout, emptiness, or chronic dissatisfaction.

What makes this tragedy deeper is that we are often trying to be accepted by people who themselves were conditioned to reject who they are.

On this Reconciliation Day, the invitation is radical:

Reconcile with yourself.

Reconcile with the parts of you that were lost in the pursuit of approval.

Reconcile with the dreams you abandoned to appear “reasonable.”

Reconcile with the child in you who learned that love was conditional.

Reconcile with your truth — even if it disrupts your comfort.

Healing does not begin with being understood by others; it begins when you stop abandoning yourself to be accepted.

Psychological wellbeing is restored when we gather the fragmented parts of who we are and say, “You are safe to come home.” When we rebuild ourselves not for acceptance, but for alignment, we start healing.

Today, may reconciliation be more than a public holiday. May it be a private return. A sacred reunion. A courageous decision to become whole again.

The real work of healing, spirituality depth, relationship fulfilment, and purpose alignment lies not in fixing what’s wrong with you, but in deciding and committing to stop betraying who you really are.

Mental health collapses when clarity is sacrificed, relationships fail when authenticity is traded for attachment, and purpose disappears when spirituality is disconnected from lived truth.

Wholeness begins the day you choose alignment over approval and build a life that no longer requires you to abandon yourself to belong.

Tonight on Grief & Relief: When Grief Is Carried in Silence ✨

This past Wednesday on Grief & Relief, we sat with Phumlani Dlamini, whose story speaks to the kind of grief many men carry quietly and for far too long.

Over a decade ago, Phumlani lost his father — not just a parent, but his best friend. That loss left him angry, devastated, and without the emotional tools to process the pain. Like many, he turned to alcohol to cope. The drinking numbed the pain for a moment, but it never healed it.

In this episode, I join Phumlani in an honest, compassionate conversation about what it means to live with grief rather than run from it. We explore how unprocessed loss shows up in our lives, why men are often taught to grieve in silence, and how healing begins when we give ourselves permission to feel — not to forget, but to carry the pain differently.

As the Resident Therapist, my role in this conversation was not to rush him toward closure, but to help him name the grief, understand its impact, and begin finding healthier ways to honour his father while caring for himself.

This episode is a reminder that:

Grief has no expiry date.
Suppressing pain doesn’t make it disappear.
Strength is found in facing what hurts, not avoiding it.

📺 The repeat of this episode airs tonight at 20:00 on Soweto TV (Channel 251 on DStv).

If you’ve lost a parent, if you’ve struggled with anger or unhealthy coping after loss, or if you support someone who has — I encourage you to tune in. You may recognise parts of your own story, and perhaps find language for a pain you’ve been carrying alone.

Grief & Relief continues to create space for real conversations, real healing, and real growth.
