Stretch of the Week: Cat-Cow Stretch 🐱🐄
How it helps:
This gentle stretch improves spinal flexibility, relieves lower back tension, and helps ease stiffness in the neck and shoulders.
How to do it:
Start on all fours with your hands under your shoulders and knees under your hips.
Inhale as you arch your back (Cow Pose), lifting your head and tailbone toward the ceiling.
Exhale as you round your back (Cat Pose), tucking your chin toward your chest and pulling your belly in.
Repeat this movement 5-10 times, moving with your breath.

What a great read for runners. Stress and adaptation.

You might think that the key to becoming a better runner is all about pushing harder in training. But here’s the truth: you don’t get stronger while running you get stronger while recovering.

The real magic happens when your body repairs itself after a tough session.

One of the biggest mistakes runners make?

Skipping post-run recovery rituals. If you finish a run and immediately sit down for hours without stretching, refueling, or rehydrating, you’re missing a huge opportunity to speed up muscle repair, prevent injuries, and feel fresher for your next workout.

Here’s what you should be doing after every run:

- Rehydrate immediately—even if you don’t feel super thirsty, your body has lost fluids. Drink water or an electrolyte-rich drink.

- Eat a mix of protein and carbohydrates within 30-60 minutes. A protein shake, Greek yogurt with fruit, or a simple peanut butter and banana toast can help replenish energy stores and repair muscles.

- Stretch and foam roll—focus on tight areas like calves, quads, hamstrings, and lower back to keep muscles flexible and prevent stiffness.

Get enough sleep. Your body does most of its muscle repair and hormone regulation while you’re sleeping, so aim for at least 7-9 hours of quality sleep.

If you prioritize recovery as much as training, you’ll feel stronger, run better, and avoid those nagging injuries that keep many runners sidelined.
