BREAKING NEWS

REPORTED THIS EVENING ON UTV 6PM NEWS

In view of ongoing concern about public health it has just been announced that Belfast City Council has restricted attendance at cremation services held in the Crematorium to Funeral Directors only from Monday 23rd March 2020. This unfortunately means that families of the deceased are not permitted to attend the cremation service.

At present there is no such restriction on family attendance at burials.

Lately we have had enquiries from families expressing their wish to purchase a coffin directly from us. As managing director let me make this clear to the Funeral Industry our ethos is to ensure that bereaved families receive the best attention at all stages of what can be a very sad and difficult time. We will endeavour to accommodate everyone and if this means selling directly to families this we will do. All our coffins have been tested to carry up to 32 stone that is just over 200 kgs. They are suitable for both burial and cremation and suitable for our damp climate. Over this past while demand for alternative and more cost effective funerals has increased. We aim to supply that need.
If you are wondering whether you have to purchase a coffin or urn from a funeral home. The simple answer is No.
Funeral directors should not refuse a coffin supplied by a family.
