Randburg Boxing Club Join us for a free workout to find out what you're missing. Classes are 1 hour in duration and are lead by one of the Randburg Boxing Club coaches.

The Randburg Boxing Club is the second longest standing Boxercise gym in Johannesburg offering a truly unique workout that will transform your health in 1 month. Boxercise:

Boxercise became popular in the UK in the early ninties and was started by Andy Wake as an alternate form of exercise. The training sessions include all muscle groups and focus on standard boxing exercises like bag work, skipping, ab training and defensive manouvers. The exercises are broken into four minute rounds with a thirty second break between rounds. Each round focuses on a different muscle group. For example, you will start with a warm-up round, next an arms workout, then shoulders and chest, then back followed by legs and finally stomach exercises. It's not necessary to improve your fitness levels before join our Boxercise classes as the coach leading the class will suggest alternate exercises for the new recruits and also monitor the exercises to ensure that injuries do not happen. If you are very fit, then you are in for a suprise. We've had rugby players, body builders and runners join our classes only to find that boxing fitness is very different to other types of fitness. We offer a first class free for those trying it out. Wear a pair of running shoes with comfortable training clothing. Aside from that, all you need to bring is a towel. Boxercise times :

Amateur Boxing:

Aside from the Boxercise classes, we have Amateur Boxing classes on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The classes are 1 hour in duration and are a step up in terms of required fitness levels to the Boxercise classes. It is not necessary to be an amateur boxer or aspire to box as an amateur, these classes are designed for those looking to learn the technical skills of a boxer. Classes focus on conditioning, fitness and technique. We start with a warm up, followed by the following drills:

- Conditioning exercises
- Heavy bag work out
- Light sparring
- Shadow boxing
- Ab workout

We require boxers to wear mouth guards for the sparring sessions and bring their own towels for the ab workout. The classes are lead by a coach that monitors the training session to ensure that safety comes first. Our aim is to introduce people to the sport of boxing and allow you to pick up the essential skills of offense and defense. Please note, the coaches will decide whether you are at the right level of skill and fitness before being allowed to spar. Everyone can fight but not everyone can box. Boxing times:
