Vandag vier ons ‘n baie spesiale dag — ons Bestuurder verjaar!

Die inwoners het vroegoggend vir haar gesing waarna die personeel haar verras het met ‘n heerlike ontbyt.

Sandra, ons wens jou ‘n wonderlike nuwe lewensjaar toe, vol vreugde en oorvloedige seëninge!

Huis Groeneweide is omskep in ’n ware ‘Easter Wonderland’ – prentjiemooi versier met soveel aandag aan detail.

Baie, baie dankie Cecilia van Reenen en Sylvia Cummings vir julle kreatiwiteit, tyd en liefde waarmee julle hierdie pragtige atmosfeer geskep het. Dit is werklik besonders en word opreg waardeer.

EASTER WEEK JOY

What a special and meaningful week we’ve had as we journeyed together towards Easter. It was all about creating memories and sharing joy.

Our theme for the week was “In His Hands”

We spent time reflecting on the importance of our hands — all they have done for us over the years, the care they have given, the work they have carried and all they still continue to do today.

Our residents engaged in a variety of hands-on activities: from tracing, cutting, pasting and decorating, to creating beautiful wreaths, enjoying ‘word search’ and ‘find the picture’ games and ending off the week by decorating bunny bags for our Easter eggs.

Thank you to everyone who participated and to everyone who helped make this week so memorable. It is in these meaningful moments that we see the true beauty of connection and care.

There’s an African proverb that says:
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

And that’s exactly what team building reflects — bringing people together in a way that creates connection and a shared sense of purpose beyond daily roles.

Our recent team building session was a wonderful reminder of the value of unity. It encouraged better communication and reminded us that when we come together as a team, we strengthen not only our working relationships, but also the care and compassion we extend every day.

Thank you to everyone who took part on Friday — for all the fun, laughter, energy and teamwork.

We are truly grateful for each staff member who contributes to making Huis Groeneweide such a special place.

THE ANNUAL POUR — ‘n Spesiale Woord van Dank

Twee weke gelede het ons ons heel eerste wynveiling gehou — ’n onvergeetlike mylpaal en ’n aand wat vir altyd in ons geheue sal bly. Agter die skerms het baie hande saamgewerk om alles moontlik te maak.

Ons wil graag ‘n opregte woord van dank rig aan Yolandé Bezuidenhoudt, wat haar tyd en talent so mildelik met ons gedeel het. Van pragtige handgeskrewe naamkaartjies vir alle gaste, tot wynprop-plekhouers, die geverfde verwelkomingsbord en die aanwysingsborde wat gaste na die lokaal gelei het — elke detail is met sorg en liefde met die hand geskep.

Selfs toe daar op die laaste oomblik veranderings was en klein aanpassings nodig was, is alles met grasie en ’n rustige bereidwilligheid hanteer.

Yolandé, jou kreatiwiteit en toewyding het werklik iets besonders tot die aand bygedra en ons is bevoorreg om jou as deel van die Huis Groeneweide-familie te hê!

❤️ Liefde is… in ’n sagte woord, ’n helpende hand, ’n glimlag wat iemand se dag ligter maak.

❤️ Liefde is… klein gebare wat ’n groot verskil maak.

Ons oggend was vol pret, speletjies en vrolike oomblikke en vanmiddag het ons rustig saam ’n fliek gekyk — met iets lekkers om aan te peusel.

Baie dankie aan elkeen wat help om hierdie huis ’n ware tuiste te maak!

Humbled. Grateful. Overwhelmed.

Our very first auction last night exceeded every expectation we could have imagined. What unfolded was more than an event — it was a powerful expression of unity and heart.

Thank you to every guest who attended, every sponsor who gave so generously, every table head, donor, volunteer and every single person who played a role, big or small. Your participation and support turned the evening into something we will never forget!

A special thank you to Tiny van Rensburg, our incredible auctioneer, for walking this road with us. From the word go, he had the room in the palm of his hand, guiding us with a natural talent that made the evening unforgettable.

We are deeply thankful and incredibly moved by what was achieved together.
