The Grade R Class at Bayerngarden Centre for Early Childhood Development celebrated South Africa’s Heritage Day with two special activities. Solving clues for a scavenger hunt to find puzzle pieces to construct a huge South African flag and then enjoying one of SA’s favorite pastimes – a boerie roll braai!

Team NexGen were invited to attend the IGNITE International Robotics event hosted by Ignite Robotics International and Texpand at the Samsung Innovation Lab at UWC. They were excited to join other IGNITE teams for the official 2025/2026 FTC season launch and strategy discussion for the new season.

Throwback Thursday: One of the fun activities of the Playgroup during Fruit and Vegetable themed week was a visit to the Hydroponics facility at the Bettina Benzoni-Ruffert Community Garden and Environmental Training Centre. The little ones helped with the weekly harvest and each child was able to take home a little basket of fresh vegetables.

Sr Zanele Hali, CNP and Manager of La Maison de Christoph, the Holistic Health Centre at The Nex -Indawo Yethu campus in Delft, hosted representatives of the Pharmacy Department of the Western Cape Department of Health at The Nex. Led by Northern Tygerberg substructure (NTSS) Pharmacy Manager Tasneem Parker, the visit focused on chronic medication collection improvement strategies. Patients who currently collect their medication at The Nex were interviewed as a way to assess their satisfaction and improvement on the process.

The NexGen Robotics team attended the Africa First Tech Challenge festival at CPUT (Cape Peninsula University of Technology) – a springboard event into the upcoming Decode season. With the focus on learning, testing and inspiration in the field of robotics, Team NexGen attended specific technical workshops and enjoyed making connections with other teams.
