🕯️ 10 Candle Making Tips That Make Your Candles Smell Stronger & Burn Better

Candle making isn’t just melt and pour — the small details make the difference between a basic candle and a luxury-quality one ✨

1️⃣ Weigh, don’t guess
Always use a digital scale. Incorrect ratios = weak scent or bad burn.

2️⃣ Temperature is EVERYTHING
• Melt wax: 75–85°C
• Add fragrance: 65–75°C
• Pour: 55–70°C
Too hot burns off scent. Too cool causes sinkholes.

3️⃣ Don’t overload fragrance oil
Soy: 6–10% | Paraffin: 6–9%
More oil = sweating, clogging wicks, fire risk.

4️⃣ Your wick choice matters more than the wax
The correct wick prevents tunnelling, soot, and weak flames. Always test burn.

5️⃣ Warm your jars first
Cold glass causes wet spots and poor adhesion.

6️⃣ Go easy on colour
Too much dye affects scent throw and burn performance.

7️⃣ Let candles cure
Soy candles need 7–14 days to develop a strong scent throw.

8️⃣ First burn rule
Burn until the melt pool reaches the edges — this prevents tunnelling forever.

9️⃣ Stir fragrance properly
Stir slowly for 2 full minutes so oil binds with the wax.

🔟 Cool candles slowly
Room temperature, no drafts. Fast cooling = cracks, frosting, sinkholes.
