Exciting news 📢

We've noticed a need in the community, so we've decided to collaborate and host a Workshop.

Amongst parents and educators, we've noticed a general trend of, "I know this child needs intervention, but I'm not sure how to help them."

We'll be hosting a Workshop on Saturday the 25th of October. It will be a morning packed with tools, insightful information, resources, and restored hope ✨️

As a Play-based Counsellor, I love working with your child in sessions. These moments are powerful — we explore feelings, build coping skills, and practice emotional regulation. But here’s the truth: lasting change doesn’t happen in my room alone.

Your child spends 45 minutes a week with me… and the rest with you. That’s why your role is crucial. When you implement the tools I share, model healthy regulation, and create a supportive environment at home, the progress we make in the sessions becomes real, consistent, and long-lasting.

Counselling is a team effort. I’m here to guide and equip both your child, and you as a parent. Because emotional growth and safety starts at home. It starts with you. 💛

Toddlerhood: a frustrating age for parents, but such a vital developmental stage for children. These are the foundation years when your little human is learning all they can about the world, themselves, their wants and needs, and their feelings. Children need to be taught HOW to regulate their emotions, not expected to just do it. Give them as much stimulation, and love, as you possibly can 💛

This made me chuckle, I had to share 😂 - any other counsellors have sessions and sometimes think to yourself, "What is this child saying?"

Cap, rizz, cook, dank, drip, lit, mid, no cap, sigma, slaps, tweaking.. these are some of the words that have been thrown around in my sessions. It's honestly like the kids are speaking a different language. I've had to go home and educate myself, and in the process, feel very old 😂

When you're 11 years old and normal Jenga gets boring, you create your own domino chain.

The work I'm privileged to do, and the healing process I'm able to witness, is incredible. Watching this young boys mind kick into building mode, all whilst discussing parents mid divorce and what that new reality looks and feels like.

The sessions I have with children are so much more than "just play." We talk, we process, we heal, and we regain confidence. All whilst playing. It's truly remarkable!

My kids often say to me, "I did so badly in my test today", or, "I came last in my swimming gala". They say it with such disappointment, as if they've let the whole world down.

My standard response is, "Did you try your best? Because your best is more than enough."

Please be reminded that a child's best effort is more than enough! We all have good days, and some not so good days. We are all trying our best, and we all deserve some grace.
