illion people in South Africa living with diabetes, approximately 1 million in Kwa-Zulu Natal alone (more than 50% unaware that they have the condition!) there is a dire need for education and awareness about the prevention, symptoms and treatment of diabetes. Diabetes SA is a non-profit organization founded in 1969 to be a support and an advocate for all people with diabetes. Diabetes has become known as the Tsunami of the 21st century, killing more people worldwide than AIDS and cancer. Our main objective is to bring Diabetes into the spotlight, in the hope that it gains the recognition it deserves, instead of remaining in the shadow of HIV AIDS and Cancer. As we do not receive funding from Govt, it is only by receiving donations from generous folk and businesses, that Diabetes SA Durban is able to run day-to-day programs such as support groups, blood sugar testing and supplying free glucometers to those who cannot afford medical care. One of our fundraising initiatives is Hampers, which we send to donors to thank them for their cash donation. We would appreciate the donation of any goods which we could use to give as thank you gifts. Upon receipt of any donation (cash or goods) over R500.00, we will issue you with a Section 18A Tax Certificate as well as a BBBEE letter from our Accountant stating that our beneficiaries are 80% black. We look forward to building a mutually beneficial relationship with you - a person who is concerned about the health and well being of family, friends, colleagues and the underprivileged of our Nation.

Don’t grumble because you don’t have what you want—be thankful you don’t get what you deserve. Most people don’t mind suffering in silence as long as everyone else knows about it. Some people intend to be gratefully humble but instead turn out to be grumbly hateful. If you feel “dog tired” at night, it is because you growled all day. Stop grumbling because roses have thorns. Instead, be thankful that thorns have roses!
When we are discontented with ourselves, we grumble about others.
