Concussion is a common result of head injuries.
It can be defined as a blow to the head or violent shaking of the head and body. It can take place with or without consciousness and can lead to temporary cognitive problems. It is important to recognise signs and symptoms of concussions and to see it as something very serious.
Sign and symptoms are:

- Nausea or vomiting
- Brain fog
- Fatigue
- Memory loss
- Confusion
- Balance problems or dizziness
- Bothered by noise or light
- Change in emotions β feeling down or sad
Always suspect concussions with a head injury and consult a health professional immediately.
Biokineticists are knowledgeable in the recognising the signs and symptoms of concussion and in the correct treatment thereof. A Biokineticist will help with the correct type of exercise when it is needed and can guide the recovery process of the person.
A Biokineticist will use scientific exercise to aid neuroplasticity, to restore balance and coordination and to improve the function of the person when he/she is allowed to exercise.
