Hope For Dialysis Patients 🤲 | We met with 🩺 Vascular , Dr Anupa Ramnarain (A Gift of a Givers Core Team Member) based at Gateway Hospital. Anupa is driving a campaign to support Inkosi Albert Luthuli Central Hospital with Fistula Insertion to speed up in public hospitals to improve the quality of life. Patients with Stage 5 Kidney Failure require dialysis to maintain life. Creation of an Arteriovenous Fistula (AV fistula) in the arm is a surgical procedure that allows patients to . Failure to secure safe long-term dialysis access will result in death. The Renal Unit at Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital has a significant backlog of patients requiring this life-saving surgery. Gift of the Givers will partner 🤝 with Busamed Gateway Private Hospital to offer these state patients the surgery free of charge at Gateway Hospital.
