“I have truly benefited from my physiotherapy at Riley Physiotherapists. The treatment has helped me breathe better and move more easily in my day-to-day life. Every physio I have worked with has been so kind, gentle, and caring – they really make you feel comfortable and supported.

I can honestly say that the care I’ve received here is vastly better than any physiotherapy I’ve had in the past. There is a noticeable difference, not only in the quality of treatment but also in how I feel afterwards. I always leave my sessions feeling so much better.

I am so grateful for the wonderful team at Riley Physiotherapists and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for professional, compassionate care.” - Val

Mobility vs Flexibility

Flexibility is about how far your muscles can stretch, while mobility is about how well your joints move and how much control you have through that movement.

Both are important, but mobility tends to play a bigger role in how you move day to day.

You might be flexible, but without strength and control, movement can still feel restricted or unstable.

Improving mobility can help reduce stiffness, support your joints, and make everyday activities feel smoother and more comfortable.

If you’re feeling stiff or restricted, it may be a sign your mobility needs some attention. We can help you understand where the limitations are and guide you with the right exercises to improve how your body moves.

Quick Self-Check

Take a second and check in with your body:
• Any tightness?
• Any discomfort?
• When did you last move?

Awareness is the first step 👌

If you’re noticing the same areas bothering you regularly, it might be a sign your body needs a bit more attention.

We can help you understand what’s going on and guide you with simple ways to move more comfortably.

A cozy tea & chat with some lovely people on a chilly day. Thank you, Bianca, for a very comprehensive presentation on hip and knee replacements. The reseach on rehab & recovery that you shared with us was very interesting. We also talked about physio rehabilitation to improve walking speed and ability, strength, mobility, balance, function and living life on your own terms.

Standing vs Sitting - which is worse?

We often hear that sitting is bad, but standing all day isn’t the perfect solution either.

The real issue is staying in one position for too long. Your body thrives on variety, not extremes.

A few simple ways to keep things balanced during your day:

• Alternate between sitting and standing where possible
• Take short movement breaks every 30–60 minutes
• Shift your weight and avoid locking your knees when standing
• Stretch or walk for a minute or two to reset your posture
• Set reminders if you tend to get stuck in one position

Small, regular movement can go a long way in reducing stiffness and keeping your body comfortable.

If you’re experiencing ongoing discomfort, we can help identify the cause and guide you with the right approach to keep you moving well.
