The difference between a PROPHET and a SEER
The difference between a prophet and a seer is subtle but powerful. They are closely related, but they function with different emphases in the spirit.
🔥 1. The Prophet — God’s Spokesperson
A prophet is primarily one who speaks for God.
Receives messages from God (through inspiration, impressions, dreams, or scriptures)
Communicates God’s will to people
Brings direction, correction, warning, and encouragement
Focus is on hearing and declaring
👉 In simple terms:
A prophet hears from God and speaks to men.
👁️ 2. The Seer — God’s Observer
A seer is one who sees into the spirit realm.
Receives revelation through visions, symbols, and spiritual sight
Discerns hidden things, spiritual conditions, and mysteries
Often interprets what is seen and reveals deeper insight
Operates strongly in discernment and revelation
👉 In simple terms:
A seer sees in the spirit and reveals what is hidden.
⚖️ The Core Difference
A prophet emphasizes communication (speaking)
A seer emphasizes revelation (seeing)
But here’s the deeper truth:
👉 Every seer is prophetic, but not every prophet is a seer.
🔥 Deeper Insight (This is where many miss it)
The difference is not rank — it is mode of access.
The prophet can hear God without necessarily seeing visions
The seer often sees first, then understands, then speaks
So:
Prophet → "Thus says the Lord…"
Seer → "I saw…"
🧭 Balance You Must Understand
A seer without grounding can misinterpret what they see.
A prophet without depth may speak without full insight.
👉 The highest operation is when seeing and speaking align.
🔥 Final Reality
God is not limited to one channel.
Some people:
Hear more than they see
See more than they hear
Some are graced to do both
