Baby acne and eczema can look similar, but they are not the same.

Baby acne usually appears as small red or white bumps on the cheeks and is not typically itchy. It is often linked to hormones and usually settles on its own.

Eczema, on the other hand, is dry, red, and itchy, and is related to a sensitive skin barrier. It often requires ongoing care and moisturisation.

Understanding the difference is important, as treating them the same way can sometimes worsen the condition.

If you’re unsure, it’s always best to have your child’s skin assessed.

We all love instant results… but skin doesn’t quite work like that.

The best outcomes come from consistency, the right treatments, and realistic expectations, not one quick fix.

Good skin is a process, not a one-session miracle.

Skincare trends are everywhere, but not all of them are backed by science.

In this video I’ll be rating popular skincare trends based on what actually works.

From viral products to DIY remedies, it’s important to understand how these trends impact your skin before trying them.

Not everything trending is beneficial, and what works for one person may not be suitable for another.

Newborn skin can look very different from adult skin, and it’s common for parents to feel concerned when they notice rashes or marks in the first few weeks of life.

Many of these conditions, including milia, erythema toxicum, Mongolian spots, heat rash, and neonatal acne, are completely normal and harmless. They often resolve on their own with time and do not require treatment.

In most cases, gentle skincare and reassurance are all that is needed. However, if a rash changes, worsens, or causes concern, medical advice is always recommended.

Botulinum toxin is commonly used in aesthetic medicine to soften dynamic wrinkles caused by repeated facial movements.

When administered correctly, Botox relaxes targeted muscles while preserving natural facial expression.

A personalised consultation and proper facial assessment are essential to ensure safe treatment and natural-looking results.

Double cleansing can be helpful for removing sunscreen, makeup, and excess oil from the skin.

The first cleanse helps dissolve oil-based residue, while the second cleanse removes sweat, dirt, and environmental impurities.

However, if you prefer a simpler routine and are not wearing heavy products, a single gentle cleanse may be sufficient.

The most important step is choosing a cleanser that supports your skin barrier and suits your skin type.

Choosing the right skincare starts with understanding your skin type. ✨

Different skin types have different needs, and using the right ingredients can help support healthier, more balanced skin.

For oily or acne-prone skin, ingredients such as salicylic acid, niacinamide, benzoyl peroxide, and retinoids can help regulate oil production and prevent clogged pores.

Dry skin benefits from hydrating and barrier-supporting ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, ceramides, and glycerin.

For ageing skin, ingredients like retinoids, vitamin C, peptides, and daily broad-spectrum sunscreen can help support collagen and protect against environmental damage.

A consistent routine tailored to your skin type is key to maintaining healthy skin.

Hand, foot and mouth disease is a common viral infection that spreads easily, particularly among young children, but adults can be affected too.

It typically presents with small blisters on the hands, feet, and inside the mouth, often preceded by fever, fatigue, or a sore throat. Because it is viral, antibiotics are not effective. Treatment is supportive while the body clears the infection.

Most cases resolve within 7 to 10 days, but persistent fever, dehydration, severe pain, or worsening symptoms should be medically assessed.

Not every rash on the hands and feet is hand, foot and mouth disease. An accurate diagnosis is important.

Daily sunscreen protects your skin — but reapplication keeps that protection working.

Swimming, sweating, touching the face, and time outdoors all reduce sunscreen effectiveness. Reapplying every few hours helps maintain consistent UV protection and supports healthier, more resilient skin.

Consistency is one of the most powerful tools in preventing sun damage.

Skin infections are common in children, especially in warm, humid weather where sweat, close contact, and minor skin injuries can increase risk.

Understanding the type of infection — whether bacterial, viral, fungal, or parasitic — helps guide the correct treatment and prevent spreading. Early assessment helps keep children comfortable and supports faster recovery.

Topical steroid creams are effective when used correctly and the amount you use truly matters.

At our practice, we guide patients using the fingertip unit (FTU) method. One fingertip unit is enough to cover roughly two palm-sized areas of skin.

Overuse or prolonged use can lead to skin thinning and unwanted side effects, which is why steroid creams should always be used under medical supervision.

If you’re unsure how much to use, speak to your healthcare provider for personalised guidance. 💫
